  • Cosy family-run farm site three miles from the edge of the Cotswolds
  • A five-minute drive from the wildlife park; 40 minutes from Oxford
  • On-site shop selling fresh produce including local honey; firepits
Cocoon down for a rather cosy stay at West End Farm Camping. A small family-run farm three miles from the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the pitches here are in a grassy plot surrounded by fields grazed by animals or left to grow for hay. A five-minute drive from Burford and the Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, you’ll be well-connected to the local attractions here too. This is a rural location, so the views come in strong - the site looks over the Cotswolds and the Ridgeway, Handily, walking and cycling paths are not far away either and there are lots of routes into the lovely villages and little Cotswold towns nearby. From here though, you’ll be particularly primed to see Burford’s medieval bridge, church and antique shops or to potter into Shilton village for its ford and friendly pub within 10 minutes’ walk of the site. Fresh produce may get your mouth watering a little, as the site has a little shop stocked with meat such as pork and beef, eggs, bread and locally-produced jams and honey. There are firepits with each roomy pitch where you may want to get stuck into your new dins. Other comfortable facilities on the site include hot gas showers.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Good facilities, a quiet area and large camping grounds allowing for good privicy.

Disliked: The site was slightly difficult to find, but nothing that couldn't have been solved by asking a member of staff at the shop.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Nice big pitches with lots of space, right next to a farm with cows which the kids loved. Fenced all around so it was a really safe space for kids.

Disliked: Planes fly over the sight all day and night which can be a bit noisy.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: We had a wonderful 1 night stay at West End Farm - we just wish we’d stayed longer! The pitches and facilities are great, with a farm shop on site and it’s just a short drive to Carterton if you need to make a supermarket trip! There’s a fire pit with every pitch (plus free kindling), communal fridge, two compostable loos, two showers and also a plug socket in the barn if you really need one. All the animals on site, including cows and piglets also deserve a shout out - it really was a lovely, wholesome stay 😊

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: We absolutely loved this site 😍💗 we're a big family with 2 x teenagers, 1 X preteen and 1 X toddler and they all enjoyed themselves. The facilities were fab 😃 the children loved the animals and the toddler loved the play area. Free kindling and firepit with the pitch and the pitches were spacious and flat 🙂 Really felt welcome from the beginning and safe as the gates are locked at night. Charming place to stay 🙂

Disliked: Nothing 👍
