Just a short stroll from Cornbury Park and the iconic Wilderness Festival, it’s the perfect spot for those who want to stay effortlessly close to the action – with easy parking and rail access. This is relaxed, off-grid camping: grass pitches, compost loos, fresh water, starry skies, and open space to unwind. Set on a gentle rise, you’ll wake to birdsong and views over the rooftops of one of the Cotswolds’ most charming market towns. Pitch up in a meadow setting with sweeping views, ancient hedgerows, and the sound of the town church bells in the distance. From your pitch, wander into Charlbury for supplies or a pint at The Bull. Explore the ancient trees of the Wychwood Forest, or take a short drive to Chipping Norton and the now-famous Diddly Squat Farm Shop. Whether you're here for the festival, the endless footpaths, or a peaceful weekend escape - this is camping at its most easy-going. Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (wild)

Liked Loved the peace, space and views.
Nice easy site
Close to the pretty village. 5-10 min walk to the shops and pubs.

Disliked More of a note than a bad review.

The portaloo was okay but I really do think a second one is required as by Sunday you could tell it was rather full.

It says on the booking that there is an outside shower. We are used to outside showers but they usually offer a little privacy. A warning to others, it is a shower in the camping field which can been seen by other campers and houses. We made it work for the weekend but had we have known we would have been more prepared with swimwear.

As well as attending gigs at the Wilderness Festival from your pitch (half an hour’s walk), a stay at Cornbury Rise Camping puts you in pole position for exploring the Cotswolds National Landscape. Historic Burford (20 minutes’ drive), with its combination of mellow-stone cottages and half-timbered houses, is popular for its antiques shops, while Stow-on-the-Wold (half an hour) centres on a vast market square surrounded by a labyrinth of lanes packed with indie boutiques and eateries. See how the other half once lived with a look around the Palladian mansion at Ditchley Park (10 minutes, guided tours by appointment only). Alternatively, spend the day discovering manicured gardens, strolling vast tracts of woodland and touring numerous historical displays at humongous and lavish Blenheim Palace (15 minutes), the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
