  • Peaceful family-run site one mile from the river Trent
  • A 40-minute walk to Sundown Adventureland; coarse fishing on the river
  • Within five minutes’ drive of village pubs; next to a small food shop
Plant yourself down at a small, family-run site in the Nottinghamshire countryside, where country walks and a choice of village pubs are at your disposal. Cottam Secret Gardens is a well-maintained, peaceful park, just two miles from Sundown Adventureland, an amusement park with rides designed for under 10s. Bring your fishing rods, because the site’s also one mile from the river Trent. Aside from spying on the wildlife around the shores, it’s a great spot for coarse fishing. Walking boots are a must too – unless you just want a lazy break, of course – as the Trent Valley Way walk and a variety of other footpaths can be tracked down in the surrounding countryside. There’s a fab choice of local village pubs, and they’re within five minutes’ drive of the site, so you won’t have far to travel for a pint or packet of crisps. If you’d rather grab a few snacks or bits for a barbecue, there’s also a small food shop five minutes’ drive away from the site. The glamping packages on site come with barbecues, full-sized beds, lanterns and solar lights, bedding and pillows, hot chocolate and marshmallows and picnic baskets with plates, bowls and cutlery. Children’s-themed miniature tents are also available, as are day fishing tickets for the nearby caravan park. This place specialises in full-site bookings for up to 16 guests, so it’s a great spot to celebrate special occasions like birthdays and engagements with family and friends (with a bring your own or honesty bar on site).

2 bedroom cabin

Liked: This was a perfect little base for anyone with a young family going to Sundown Adventure Land. The garden is very spacious and perfect for letting the kids run around and play. We couldn't believe we had the entire thing to ourselves. The bar area was lovely for the adults to chill out and use once the kids had gone to bed. Overall we loved our stay and would come back again!

Disliked: It was close to a powerplant which I hadn't realised, but you couldn't really see it from the garden, unless you were really trying to.

Bell tent

Liked: I absolutely loved the setting. The little bar area was really nice and the children enjoyed running around exploring knowing they were fully enclosed and safe . The staff were really helpful at meeting our needs such as extra wood for the camp fire 🔥.
