  • Family-friendly park in the grounds of a 16th-century country pub
  • A 10-minute drive from Skegness and 15 from the Lincolnshire Wolds
  • Pub and fishing lake on site; riverside location
It may be in the heart of rural Lincolnshire, but it’s a mere 10-minute drive from dog-friendly Holly Tree Country Caravan Park and Pub to Skegness for adventures by the sea. Anglers take note – you’ll have access to a lovely (paid) fishing lake, which is well stocked with various species, including large tench, bream and carp; river fishing is free. And if you’re not into angling, the lake is still a scenic spot in which to pass some time. Continue your explores by heading out to stretch your legs – there are plenty of cycle tracks and country walks in the area to roam. For ventures further afield, the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a 15-minute drive away. The park also sits on the banks of the River Steeping, with access to the water for those who'd like to launch canoe or paddleboard adventures. When you're not out exploring the Wolds or the coast, settle in for cosy evenings at the on-site pub (open during the evening at weekends). The traditional, kid-friendly place dates back to the 16th century and has an open fire and an outdoor seating area. Please note that food is not served at Holly Tree Country Caravan Park and Pub. The amenities at base include showers, toilets and a washing-up area; barbecues are permitted.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Lovely place to camp! Brilliant onside toilets and showers, they were very clean and well stocked with toilet paper. Great pub with a nice selection of drinks and nice locals. The entertainment was great will definitely go again. The pitches were spacious giving lots of privacy. There is plenty of space to walk the dogs with open fields and space for children to run around safely. We enjoyed our stay so much will definitely be returning with our children

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Wonderfully friendly and welcoming site, fishing lakes, river steeping.. perfectly remote and peaceful! Pub on site which is only open weekends was amazing, 17th century, so much charm, again friendly, especially loved the maggot racing.. haven't laughed so much in a long time. Amenities are basic but functional, we personally didn't use them as we prefer our own comforts. Looking forward to our next visit next Easter.

Local attractions

You won’t be short of things to do in Lincolnshire when bedding down at this park. For starters, it’s a 10-minute drive from the 18th-century Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens, as well as being the same distance from the Bengal tigers and 100 parrot species at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park. Spot more creatures – this time of the underwater sort – at Skegness Aquarium (15 minutes), lingering for longer in the town to take in the model village as well. Adrenaline-seekers can saunter over to the Pleasure Beach FairGround (20 minutes) afterwards for rollercoaster rides by the beach. Fantasy Island theme park (20 minutes) is another place to get your thrills, and those more interested in sedate times can have a gentle jaunt on the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway (20 minutes) instead. If you’re not done with animal attractions, head to the Natureland Seal Sanctuary, pet the barnyard critters at Hardy's Animal Farm and see specimens from faraway climates at the ARK wildlife park & exotic animal sanctuary (all 20 minutes).
