  • Dog-friendly hardstanding pitches in the open Lincolnshire countryside
  • A 35-minute drive from Hull and Cleethorpes; hiking and biking nearby
  • Fishing pond, brew-making facilities and a communal summerhouse
Calling all folk who like their countryside saunters, peaceful fishing and bike rides down country lanes… families, pets and the lot are welcome at Woodside Caravan Park in the Lincolnshire countryside. Come, relax, fish and take in the countryside from the quiet hardstanding pitches on this site in a small rural village. Among its attractions are a small pleasure fishing pond and a small play area with a slide, swing set and playhouse for little kids to let off steam. Where exactly is this peaceful patch? It’s in Bonby village, surrounded by the open countryside (yes, you’re hearing right, hiking and cycling fans - you’ll be primed for scouting out long cycle routes and countryside dog walks nearby). It’s also 10 miles from Brigg and Barton-upon-Humber, two towns that have a healthy dose of shops, pubs and takeaways, plus regular farmers’ markets. Historic Hull is also 35 minutes’ drive away for activities like horse riding, kayaking, climbing and swimming, the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty starts 25 minutes’ drive away. As you roll up to Woodside Caravan Park, look out for the animals in their separate fenced paddocks. These include Highland cows, red Limousin cows and a highly entertaining (and nosey) goat named Billy. There are chickens too – when they feel like laying, expect fresh eggs available during your stay. Fishing is free of cost during your time here, but if you’d rather relax pondside and take in the views, that’s just as peaceful. The site has a summerhouse if you fancy a natter with other guests, exchanging books or DVDs or using the brew-making facilities. All the grounds and facilities are well-maintained, including the separate ladies’ and gents’ toilets. The pitches all come with a water tap.

What customers say

This beautiful, peaceful site by a fishing pond has well-maintained, modern facilities & friendly owners. Pitches are spacious. A communal summer house is a plus. Some noted few nearby amenities or showers. Younger kids might be less suited due to noise.

Liked A real hidden gem . It’s a lovely quiet site with the just the right amount of pitches . A nice touch with lights around the cabin . Shower block / toilets are immaculately clean, hot showers ,nice and warm in the building. A friendly chap greeted us on arrival & told us all the info we needed. Liked Quiet, small well laid out site. We were shown to our pitch which was spacious. The bathroom/shower facilities were amazing, really modern, clean and warm. Great location to explore and just 10 minutes from the motorway it was easy to find even in the dark! We will definitely be back. Take a torch for the nights as it’s quite dark to walk to the bathrooms.

Liked Well layed out, with all facilities.
Everything clean and working.

Disliked Pitches too small for our 7m van
Tight entrance for anytime over 6m
Closer proximity to road. Road was a lot busier than expected and therefore road noise was noticeable

From the manager: All of our pitches are suitable for twin axel caravans /motorhomes ? They do vary in size but all pitches have at some point had big caravans/motorhomes on . The site is approximately 400meters from the road that runs through the village and most reviews state how quiet the site is . unfortunately we were not about much over the time period that you’ve stayed with us but my dad normally seems people onto site/pitches and checks everybody’s okay daily but we’ve all had this flu bug and been unwell over the Christmas and New Year period.apologies

Great site, excellent washroom facilities & great value for money.

Liked This is a lovely site, not too large, well laid out, friendly & helpful owners, lovely views of the countryside, nice area to go for walks, mostly level pitches & the best bathroom facilities I've ever seen which were kept spotless throughout our stay even though it was over Xmas & Boxing Day !! Overall we really enjoyed our stay & walks in the villages nearby. There is a good phone signal so my van wi-fi worked fine.

Disliked The water & electric hook up points were not close to my pitch, but I think this was the pitch that I was on - most of the other pitches looked OK. Luckily I had brought a 25m hook up lead which just reached - I had to move the campervan though to get nearer to the water tap and then re-pitched the van afterwards. Not a big problem, just assumed the water & electric points were on the actual pitch, I'll know better next time.

Local attractions

A round of the local golf course to kickstart your Lincolnshire break? Elsham Golf Club (five minutes’ drive) has been around since 1900 and has 18 holes. Hull (35 minutes) is just as historic: there’s the Streetlife Museum with old trams, cars and carriages, as well as the Hull Maritime Museum. The Deep (half an hour) aquarium is another fine entertainment option with jellyfish, stingrays and sharks. If that has you wanting more of the water (but no more sharks, please and thank you), make your way to Cleethorpes (35 minutes) for paddleboarding and kayaking. Waters' Edge Country Park & Visitor Centre (15 minutes) has some sublime river views and dog-friendly walks, as well as a viewing port over the bridge. Perhaps you want something that will get your heart rate up even more – and what a wild setting the Regency mansion at Normanby Hall Country Park (20 minutes) is for a Go Ape treetop course.
