  • Peaceful and friendly park in the Lincolnshire Fens
  • Dog-friendly with a huge dog walking field
  • Play area and kids' bar area with games
You might like to ponder on arrival who Orchard View Caravan & Camping Park would be most perfect for, but you might be pondering for some time. For those who like the sound of silence: this is a serene and peaceful park away from noisy A-roads. Scenic sorts: the park is in the handsome Lincolnshire Fens, with waterways to explore nearby. Foodie types: the Fenland villages have all sorts of tasty treats to try – fresh farm produce, rated restaurants, tearooms, fresh fruit from roadside stalls and Lincolnshire sausages made in the market town Spalding. And Fido: Orchard View is dog-friendly and has a huge (and safe) dog walking field with lots to sniff at. And finally, the little saplings: there's plenty of technology-free space for younger guests, including a wooden play area with a sandpit, swings and a slide. Kids are also welcome in the children's area of the bar where there are board games, puzzles and supervised use of the pool table. Amenities here are bang up to date, such as the recently built shower block with free hot showers. There’s a shop three miles away at Gedney Hill and you’ll find info galore on what to do in the local area in the tourist information cabin and in the bar – or you could just ask Ray and Maria what they recommend - they’ll be happy to help.

Liked: Amazing stay, campsite owners are so nice and very helpful. Site really clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Lovely and quiet, play park for the kids in the middle so you can see from 90% of pitch's which is awesome. Had some great food from the van they have, definitely a hit when you don’t wanna cook. Didn’t have a dog with us but love that they even have a dog walking part at the back. Would definitely stay again thank you.

Liked: We were a few families and stayed in tents and one family in the static. I have NEVER seen a cleaner toilet, shower & washing up area as spotless as this place. Not even in Europe, Entire UK, or South Africa. No cobwebs or wet floors. Even the taps were shining. The kids play area was brilliant and kept all the kids busy for hours. The food and bar also a massive big treat. Chicken burger and halloumi fries were better than some of the restaurants I've eaten at and the bar had a good selection. Also not noisy around the bar area. It's not a Massive site but it's totally enclosed so no fear of kids getting out. Dog field also brilliant and spacious. The staff/owners are very welcoming and friendly and helpful. There is so much to do around the area too. Museums, lavender gardens, spitfire museum too and beaches. Worth the very little they charged per day for the stay in both tent with ehu and the static. Incredible time had by all in our big family group. We will all definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely hassle free stay.

Disliked: I honestly cannot think of a single thing that needs fixing or changing.

Liked: Everything. The host James was brilliant. Was available at anytime. Personally showed me to my pitch and showed me around the site. The Bar was brilliant and cheap and also has food van serving fast food open most nights. The showers, toilets and washing up area were immaculate. The site was very quiet and peaceful. Would I come here again, yes I would. Would I recommend my friend yes I would.

Disliked: Would like to say none but had to pay for wifi which was fast and was able to stream services. I paid £5 for 3 nights( not bad really), I did this as my mobile (Vodafone) had a rubbish signal. But this a minor negative for me.

From the manager: Hi Mark, Was a pleasure to meet you, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and liked the site. We wish we could offer WiFi free of charge, but due to the costs of having it supplied and being a small, rural site, without increasing our prices to include this service, its all we can do to remain as affordable as possible. Hope to see you again! James and Alex

Local attractions

You’ll need to be active to work off all those Lincolnshire sausages, so take to the unexplored fens on Orchard View’s doorstep for cycling, riverside rambling and horse riding. Strolling around the shops is also a less strenuous way to work off the calories: Spalding has bargains galore in the Springfield Shopping Outlet. A scenic drive will take you to the towns of Hunstanton and Sandringham, but you can’t come to this part of Lincolnshire without also seeing seaside town Skeggy. It’s not just the seaside, the donkey rides and the funfair: the Natureland Seal Sanctuary is at Skegness too – and has tarantulas. Once the kids have recovered from their hair-raising tarantula experience, soothe them with a trip to Fantasy Island up the coast at Ingoldmells. Where, coincidentally enough, there’ll be a chance to go shopping again: with hundreds of stalls, the Eastgate Market is the biggest indoor seven-day market in Europe...
