  • Luxury family-friendly glamping in the garden of a rural stately home
  • A 20-minute drive from Barton-upon-Humber; Cleethorpes 45 minutes
  • Fully-furnished yurt with ensuite bathroom and hot tub
Waking up to a new day after a night under canvas is usually a refreshing experience, but imagine doing it in the gardens of a stately home while you look over green fields grazed by horses and sheep. As the folks at Walcot Hall Estate in north Lincolnshire have realised, something quite special happens when you combine sleeping under the stars in a luxury yurt with holidays in the grand surrounds of this handsome Georgian house. This fully-furnished tent is spacious enough to host two adults and two children and is surrounded by quiet parkland, guaranteeing guests lots of privacy and peace. There are plenty of footpaths and trails around for open-air walks, while wildlife havens like the banks of the rivers Trent and Humber are within easy strolling distance. The yurt is decorated to a high standard throughout and feels exceptionally bright and airy because of skylight panels in the roof. A kettle with tea and coffee making facilities is provided. Guests at Walcot Hall Estate also have access to a lot of outdoor space, including decking and a barbecue area for cooking. In terms of facilities, an ensuite bathroom is on hand, as is a rather lovely hot tub. Walcot Hall Estate is located on the edge of the tiny village of Alkborough, where an independent tea rooms can be reached in around 10 minutes via a footpath.

Snowdrop shepherd's hut (hot tub)

Liked: The cabin is modern and very clean. Everything you need for your stay is provided and more. Dog friendly Has a hot tub 3 options for seating - decking chairs, table and chairs and outdoor sofas. The BBQ is a nice touch and allows 2 people to cook means comfortably. Very peaceful environment and you are left to enjoy your time there alone. 10 minute walk away you can see great views of the river Trent. Overall everything about our stay has far exceeded our expectations and I couldn’t recommended this place enough to anyone wanted a relaxing time away. Our dogs were able to run around all weekend as the cabin grounds were fully secure.

Disliked: This is not a dislike but more of a side note - we found the hot tub takes around 6-8 hours to heat up after being turned off so keep in mind to turn it on well in advance when wanting to use it. (It was already hot and ready when we first arrived)
