  • Small Lincolnshire campsite next to a farm with horses and sheep
  • A 15-minute drive to Lincoln city centre; 50 minutes to the coast
  • Five minutes' walk to a golf course; 1.5 miles to the nearest pub
Small in size but offering a big Lincolnshire welcome, Branston Moor Campsite is a peaceful spot surrounded by farmland to the south-east of Lincoln. Close to the village of Branston (five minutes' drive), where there are pub and supermarket amenities, this rural spot is next to the owners' working farm, so you may catch sight of horses and sheep while you're out and about around the pitches. Set over well-maintained and level grounds, this campsite has access to simple facilities such as a small toilet block with flushing toilets, showers and a washing-up shack with cold taps and a small fridge. You're also welcome to build a campfire here (as long as the weather conditions mean it's safe to do so). If you like to play golf, the nearest course is just up the road, about five minutes away on foot – and if that's not your thing, there are lots of cycling and walking trails in the local area too. While many guests will want to stick close to base and focus on exploring Lincoln or the Lincolnshire Wolds, it's pretty easy to get out to the coast too, as seaside spots like Mablethorpe or Donna Nook can be reached in under an hour.

Upcycled microlodge

Liked: Peaceful, immaculate site 10 minutes from Lincoln. Upcycled pod is very well-equipped, well-designed and spotless and with great sitting space right outside. Very level pitches too.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Tranquil, rural site. Of the beaten track. Small site so not too many people. The owners are very friendly, nice people make you feel very welcome.

Disliked: Nothing really, the showers were a bit basic, could do with un up grade. Basic and functional.
