Set in the Waters' Edge Nature Reserve, at Marshlands Lakeside Nature Retreat you will relax and unwind whilst enjoying amazing views of the reserve and the iconic Humber Bridge Choose one of the many walking and cycling routes that start right on the site's doorstep, or visit the interesting city of Hull, City of Culture 2017, with all its attractions. The kids will enjoy spotting the local wildlife, as well as meeting the site's mini menagerie: two dogs, two ponies, three sheep, guinea pigs, turtles, cockatiels, and guinea fowl. The site has basic facilities and include a table tennis, badminton, swings/slide and large trampoline. There are no toilets or showers, please keep this in mind when booking. In the little town of Barton, at a short distance, you will find many restaurants and pubs, perfect to enjoy good food and a bit of entertainment.

In the pretty little town of Barton, you will find plenty of places to eat and seven pubs, where you can enjoy a beer and some live entertainment. Stroll along the Waters' Edge Nature Reserve and go walking or cycling along the footway of of the iconic Humber Bridge. Just over the bridge you'll find the interesting city of Hull, home to The Deep, Britain's most spectacular aquarium. Wander around and try to spot sharks, stingrays and colourful coral fishes. Visit the interesting Ferens Art Gallery and the fascinating Streetlife Museum, recreating street scenes from Georgian and Victorian times with all sorts of historic vehicles, such as stagecoaches, old bicycles, buses and trams. Moreover, Yorkshire, with its many tourist attractions, is within easy driving distance, while Cleethorpes beach resort is approximately 30 minutes away.
