Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (family)

Liked: Small field, not to many pitches and clean shower and toilet block. Good value for a quiet getaway

Disliked: Not a dislike but wold be good for a cover over potash area. I know the site owners don't control the weather and not a dislike more a suggestion

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (family)

Liked: Basic campsite in rural setting with clean facilities.

Disliked: Very small. Even when half full felt crowded especially with vehicles on site. No footpaths off site, had to walk down a road. Padlocked gate seemed unnecessary. No hot water for washing up. No phone charging points or ice pack facilities. On the flight path for East Midlands airport and near a road so expect some low level noise. No fresh farm produce available on site and no fire pits allowed.

From the manager: Aww it is a shame you left such a poor review for a new business that wasn’t factual, you left positive feedback from what we advertise the site to be, so thank you as this is correct. (A basic campsite in a rural setting with clean facilities.) but the other things you mentioned that are negative are things we do not advertise as we do not provide them, so I don’t think this review is not a true reflection of our new business. If we said we provided a charging point and sold farm produce and we didn’t do this, then I would understand your negative review, but we do not provide these facilities and we have never said we do, so your review is harsh. Our site is located on our quite rural farm and we are over 33 miles away from an airport. I’d say all campsites are probably within this radius. It’s a shame you didn’t see the positives of owl sounds, and cows at the side of you, the gorgeous views and sunset and a bright star lit sky on our gorgeous farm.

Shepherd's hut (ensuite)

Liked: We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here and absolutely loved it. The site was incredibly peaceful and the shepherds hut was fantastic and in a great location. Our host Carolyne struck the perfect balance between caring and looking after her campers but also giving them space to relax on their own. Carolyn was also really keen to learn our experience of the stay from a guest perspective in order to see if there were any areas she wanted to develop further. This attention to detail was really impressive. In short, my wife and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to others and we will deffo be back ourselves.

Disliked: Nothing
