  • Military wagon sleeps couple or family of 4 in wildflower meadow
Monty is a Brockhouse military wagon and weighs in at a chunky 5 tons. Originally designed as a portable radar station for the Army in WW2, he was built to withstand a bomb. Monty has been lovingly restored using upcycled materials. Inside the vibe is more rustic log cabin than conventional caravan, featuring a wood clad interior, slate worktops, a cosy woodburner for chilly nights and handmade bespoke bunk beds with a kingsize bed on the bottom and a double on the top. Monty has a large private decking area with seating and spectacular sunset views over Wye Valley and Black Mountains beyond. Bedding is provided including feather pillows & duvets, crisp cotton sheets and cosy blankets. We also have a camp bed which can be set up inside or, weather permitting, outside on the deck for anyone who fancies a night of stargazing. This big fella stands high off the ground and he offers characterful accommodation for a couple or family of 4. Close by in the copse you will find a large campfire, our beautiful Summer Kitchen with long table and cooking facilities and showershack with hot shower and toilets. There is also a tennis court on site and holistic massage and facial treatments can be booked in advance. Should you fancy a night off campfire duties, you can order delicious homemade meals via our Van service. Mad Dogs & Vintage Vans has 4 vans in total so if you wish to come with friends please enquire about our other units.
