  • Peaceful yurt surrounded by trees with abundant wildlife
  • Walk to the Lower Woods nature reserve; a 30-minute drive to Bristol
  • Firepit provided; relaxed, 'leave no trace' destination
No wonder Horwood Farm Camping is proud to share its peaceful, secluded one-acre field. Sheltered by trees, surrounded by streams and teeming with wildlife, the farm is made up of wildflower meadows and ancient woodlands that are already well-liked (and grazed) by the site's rare-breed animals. Accommodation takes the form of a large yurt comfortably sleeping up to four people. Just a short walk away from Lower Woods Nature Reserve (using footpaths), it feels nicely tucked away despite being half an hour's drive away from the centre of Bristol. The owners want guests to leave no trace, so they’ve very handily provided a raised firepit with a heat mat should you wish to get some flames going come evening time. They can provide firewood too – so just bring your matches, own snacks and fireside tales. A lovely farm shop is in Tortworth, within 10 minutes' drive of the site, and the village of Wickwar has a coffee shop and a pub (both within 25 minutes' walk). The owners particularly like a café on the bridge in Charfield, 10 minutes' drive away. Chipping Sodbury, also a 10-minute drive from the site, has a supermarket and bakery.
