  • Peaceful site on the edge of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds
  • 10 minutes’ drive from the towns of Cirencester and Tetbury
  • In the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant
Stunning landscapes, scenic market towns and the peace and quiet of the Cotswolds… How could you say no to that? At family-friendly site The Thames Head Inn, four miles from Cirencester market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, you definitely won't want to miss the chance. Thames Head is well-placed for exploring the spectacular Cotswolds on foot or by bike – the start of the Thames Path, which follows the world-famous river for 184 miles from source to sea, is half a mile from the site, and there are loads of cycles tours and walking routes starting in Cirencester and Tetbury, both within 10 minutes’ drive of the site. If that's not your scene, kick back on the dog-friendly site in the shade of the trees, soaking in the scenic and peaceful Cotswolds countryside, or take a relaxed stroll through the fields with Rex. Worked up an appetite? The site is in the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant, where food is served well into the evening and the drinks keep flowing until closing (remember to book a table, as mealtimes can get very busy). If you fancy fending for yourself, pick up supplies in Cirencester or Kemble – a 20-minute walk away – and fire up the barbecue. For a change of scenery – and menus – there are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes of Thames Head.

Powered gravel travel trailer campsite (small)

Liked: We stayed for one night in a transporter with electric. Plenty of room, very clean and tidy site. Lovely pub, food and staff are lovely, and in a beautiful setting.

Disliked: One toilet and one shower for the whole site, and they were both in the same room. Good site if you're self sufficient but I wasn't keen on the 40 minute stand outside waiting for a shower/toilet, when we could have been away on the road.... Luckily, the sun was shining. Also couldn't find anywhere to wash up and clean our dirty pots.

Liked: I needed somewhere nearby to my base to practice my new caravan skills. Some very friendly people on site offered help and advice. After all that, I enjoyed a pint or two in very nearby pub/restaurant. A great venue for a first timer. Highly recommended

Liked: Clean, flat pitches. Hard standing. Good pub, good food

Disliked: One toilet and shower in a small for 11 pitches. Not enough toilet facilities for the amount of pitches. Also the staff use the toilet so it's a very busy toilet!

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay. The site was clean and quiet with good amenities. It’s a pity the toilet/ shower wasn’t a little bigger but it’s not a criticism. The pub also served delicious food and the staff were very helpful.
