  • Family-friendly and dog-friendly site part of a friendly social club
  • A 20-minute drive from Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park; walks nearby
  • Social club activities, pool table and bar; farm park next door
Thinking about packing the Peak District, castles, pony trekking and farm parks into one stay? Shirebrook Staff Sports and Social Club has a chilled-out place within reach of top Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire attractions. This family-friendly and dog-friendly site is part of a very friendly social club, next door to the Willow Tree Family Farm with Sherwood Forest and the National Trust’s Clumber Park 20 minutes’ drive away. You’ll certainly feel well-connected here, as there’s a bus stop to Chesterfield outside the site and takeaways, shops, cafés and a designer outlet within walking distance of the site. Walking, cycling and fishing are never too far away from here either, as Shirebrook Wood is just 25 minutes’ walk away. And for country walks or cycling trails, you’ll only need to walk five minutes. The social club has a large concert room with a pool table and hospitality at the fore – not just the friendly bar staff, but the regulars too. Here, Monday is for handicap games night for pool and dominoes (the folk who run it are always looking for extras to join), Thursday for open mic night (a few lads and lasses get together for a sing and play along) and Saturday mornings for whippet racing or local football matches. Those of you who’d rather sit and relax can go to the club’s other rooms. Back through the main door, the pitches are on a well-kept, secure and clean field with an outdoor water supply and Elsan point for waste disposal.
