  • Secluded, peaceful site with stunning Peak District views
  • A 15-minute drive from Buxton and Bakewell
  • Direct access to High Peak and Tissington trails for walks/bike rides
Partial to a Peak District view? Perhaps unsurprisingly, Peak View Newhaven Lodge Farm could well be the place for you – this small, secluded Derbyshire touring site is surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the national park, with something pretty to look at whichever way you turn. The outlook may shout ‘middle of nowhere’, but the site’s actually very easily accessible – getting in and out is fairly straightforward, as there’s a well-maintained limestone track leading to the pitches from the A515. Pubs, cafés and shops (including a fine farm shop) are five minutes’ drive away in the villages of Hartington and Monyash, and it’s a 15-minute drive to the bigger towns of Bakewell and Buxton. Planning to leave the car in situ and head out on foot or bikes? A fine plan, for it’s just a short amble across the neighbouring field to pick up the High Peak and Tissington trails; hire bikes half a mile away if you’re not able to bring your own wheels along. Also nearby are Lathkill and Wolfscote Dales, along with Ecton Hill for folk seeking a bit more of a challenge. Reckon those views would be a fine backdrop for an alfresco dinner? Spot on – the site welcomes barbecues. There’s no electricity here, but mains water is supplied and there’s a chemical disposal facility.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Such a breathtakingly beautiful sight. Amazing sunsets and the peace and quiet was perfect for a relaxing weekend. The host is a very friendly gent. Toilet water disposal and fresh water on site. You may need a hose to get the water as the one on site is quite short. The field is on a slope but around the edges especially at the top is fairly level. Although you can see the main road traffic noise was minimal. 100% will return.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Liked: If you like to be out in the sticks as they call it well this is the one for you. The views are amazing and it has easy access to the high peak trial. The farmer of the site was very friendly and helpful with lots of knowledge of the surrounding area. There is a mains water supply and chemical disposal facility.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: A great find! Very peaceful and easy going. The views were spectacular! It was just an overnight stop for us, but we will be booking again for a longer stay. There are no loo's or showers but that is made very clear when booking, and as we have both in our camper, this was not an issue. The owner is friendly and easy going. All in all a very good experience.

Disliked: Nothing.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: A great site with friendly owner that collects your money and explains the trail out to the walks etc.The camping field is a reasonable size and we only had a maximum of six other vans with us at any time in the four days we stayed there. Fantastic view over 360 degrees and surrounded by low stone walls the keep the animals out or the campers in.It is a very peaceful site and i do hope it stays like that on our next visit.Stock up on food and drink if you don't want to venture far as only chemical disposal and water on site. You need to love the countryside to enjoy this area and the views are to die for. thanks farmer" We will be back".

Disliked: Nothing to dislike about the place at all.
