Swallowholme Camping & Caravan Park is situated on the edge of the village of Bamford in the Hope Valley within the Peak District National Park. The site is within walking distance of Bamford Station and the River Derwent runs alongside the site. Hathersage is only five minutes away by car where there is an outdoor heated swimming pool. This small, family run site has a well kept shower and toilet block. There is also sinks for washing up and laundry. In addition to the seasonal caravan pitches, we cater for a small number of touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. We have a few hard-standing but mainly grass pitches with electric hook-up. The site is fairly flat and local amenities are close by including a 24 hour mini-market. A Public House, Recreation Ground, Post Office and Village Shop are a short walk into the village. Sickleholme Golf Course is only 100 yards across the road. There are also two garden centres within walking distance of the site and there are bus stops close by. The River Derwent runs by the site where fishing is permitted with a current licence. The site has plenty of wildlife including ducks, weasels, rabbits, owls and many species of wild birds. Swallowholme is a great site to use as a walking base. Sorry but dogs are not allowed on site.
