A simple, well-kept spot with roomy sites and great views, perfect for hikers and cyclists. Guests loved the amazing ice cream and friendly staff. Most enjoyed the peace and quiet, though some mentioned limited restrooms and occasional farm odors. Management has fixed electric hook-ups and improved signs.

3rd time staying here - great…

Liked 3rd time staying here - great little site. We love that it was quiet this time. Great location for exploring the Peaks. We’ll be back!

Lovely staff and great position of site for Bakewell and rolling hills
Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Had great ice cream. Location for walking is good as footpaths and bridleways only 200 yards or so away. Pitches are a good size and you'll need a 20m electric cable to reach in places. Close to village pub for great food choices too.
Disliked Choose to go to this site after April 1st as the ground does get boggy and unfortunately the owner does need to drag you out unless you find a pitch available on a higher location. Bottom of the field was not suitable. We had lots of heavy rain before our arrival though. Our Range Rover wouldn't pull us out but the motor mover did come in handy but struggled still with the damp ground.

Had. Lovely stay
Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked The views are amazing the field was very wet due to the rain so needed the tractor to pull us off which the staff was so helpful the ice cream was fantastic was a nice touch to see the cows being milk there was a pub down the road which served really tasty food and was very good price
Disliked Would be nice if they put a path to the pitches so you don't have to drive on the grass and more lighting around the pitches

Excellent place just not when there's a storm forecast

Disliked How windy it can be

Nice site, improvements would make it better and be an investment
Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Simplistic site, just Electric and WC emptying. Less than a mile to local pub (no pavement to walk on). On site, classic ice cream, fresh raw milk and some fresh / frozen meats. A very nice farmer who helped us when stuck (and others) Grass still boggy at this time of year! Very close to High Peak/ Tissington Trails.
Disliked Feel like the site requires some TLC with correct signage, maybe pitch numbers, extended road ways to lower pitches and privacy hedging. The extended roadways would effectively make all pitched hard standing. Would also be nice to extend water services, at least another tap at the other end of the site.

Will be Ok once ground has firmed up and grass is cleared up.

Liked Open communal space.
Disliked Soft ground still and just cut grass that was transferred everywhere you went.

Lovely views…
Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Lovely views
Disliked Busy road (which cannot be helped)
No facilities (but this is clearly stated when booking and wasn’t an issue for us)
With no facilities in Mind, I do belive the price is a little high, should be more £15/£20 per night

An ok site if you are struggling to find anywhere else to stay.
Powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked An ok site if nothing else available in the area. The location of the site was ideal for accessing the nearby High Peak Trail for cycling or walking. The ice cream at the dairy shop is lovely.
Disliked There was no meet and greet. In fact the one person I spoke to on arrival at the cafe couldnt have been less interested. The pitches were far too close together and the grass was over growing the hardstanding. The hardstanding pitches would not allow for the use of awnings / wind out canopies as it would impinge on the next pitch except pitch 1. Water and grey waste are difficult to access if in a motorhome. At £25 / night with a minimum 2 night stay for a field next to a busy cut through road is a bit expensive.
