  • Well-kept Northamptonshire site 15 minutes’ drive from Buckingham
  • Silverstone Circuit 15 minutes’ drive and Oxford 45 minutes
  • Kids and dogs welcome; pubs and restaurants 20 minutes’ walk
Set in Northamptonshire countryside 15 minutes’ drive from the lively market town of Buckingham, Hilltop Cottage Campsite is a leafy, landscaped and family-friendly site with a neatly mown grass field for caravans. As the site name suggests, the pitches are indeed atop a hill, and have views over wooded valleys and fields. All the pitches have electric hook-ups and are sheltered by trees and hedges. Facilities include showers and loos, washing-up sinks and a washing machine so you can all keep shipshape. Drinking water and chemical disposal are also available. Dogs are welcome on site, and there are lots of walks nearby for paw (and leg) stretches, including the path around St James Lake (five minutes’ drive). You won’t struggle to find a pub or restaurant either, as there are several within 20 minutes’ walk, and there’s a grocery shop about five minutes’ drive away. Petrolheads can head for Silverstone Circuit (15 minutes’ drive), and history buffs will find much to entertain them among the hallowed spires and museums of Oxford (45 minutes).

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Absolutely nothing !!!

Disliked The site was virtually full of permanent old touring vans with people living in them as their homes. Rubbish everywhere. Old cars abandoned. Toilet block a disgrace( only one toilet) with rubbish laying around. No toilet paper. The soap actually watered down. We actually saw rats at the rear of our van!!
