  • Well-equipped site on a working farm overlooking the Chiltern Hills
  • A 15-minute drive from Aylesbury and 40 minutes from Oxford
  • Café-restaurant, bar and an independently owned farm shop on site
Wake up to see the sun rising over the Chiltern Hills while listening to the gentle murmur of sheep, pigs and deer during a stay at Orchard View Farm, a scenic Buckinghamshire spot within 15 minutes’ drive of Aylesbury, Thame and Princes Risborough. Not that guests will ever need to venture to the town for food if they don't fancy moving – food and drinks are sorted courtesy of the on-site bar and café-restaurant, the Trough Garden Kitchen. There's also an independently owned farm shop on site for other locally-sourced bits. Looking after nature is just as important to the owners of this small farm as serving up tasty grub – they’ve worked hard to create a serene and scenic environment in the grounds by planting wildflower meadows, more than 100 trees and over 350 metres of mixed native hedging. Orchard View Farm is five minutes’ drive from the western edges of the Chiltern Hills National Landscape, so it's safe to suggest that the local area is also rather pretty for walks. Crime fiction fan? Or just fond of cute country cottages? Head off on a self-guided Midsomer Murders-themed tour of nearby villages (you can download a trail map from the internet). Oxford is 40 minutes’ drive from the site and central London takes an hour and 20 minutes to reach.

Fallow Field primitive grass tent campsite (large, premium)

Liked - Good facilities
- Good shop on site

Disliked - A bit to packed in.
- Too many children. No fault of the site, it's just not for me.
- Stated that trolley are available to transport gear from the car to the pitch. Only wheel barrows were supplied. No wheel barrows available on break down.
- A lot of rules posted all over the place.

Lawson's Lane primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Facilities provided were good and the site was well laid out and kept, with lovely little touches. Cafe was a bonus too.

Disliked No electric hook up and grey water disposal for motorhomes.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. The good news is that we are in the process of installing electric to our pitches, this will be complete for the 2027 season which is very exciting. We do have grey water disposal on site right at the back of the campsite, I am so sorry this was not shown to you on arrival.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay and very much hope to welcome you to the farm again in the future

Liked Was nice peaceful watching red kites, only stayed one night as stop over, we was only ones there not sure what like full with families.

Disliked Showers toilet may soon need a make over, I think you could do with some signs up the road would help. I would say little expensive for no hook up

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, we are glad you would return in the future.
We do now have signs down on the road to show where we are, we have had new signs made which took a little longer than expected so apologies. Electric hook up will be here for next season which is very exciting.
Wash and toilet facilities are basic, but we try to keep them to a high standard of cleanliness.
We hope to welcome you to the farm soon

Old Apiary Field primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Price, location, views, cafe, owners James and Kerry are really lovely.

Disliked No children’s play area and pitches in Apiary are too close together so it was like a festival - be better to have a central square of grass and pitches round the outside. Despite this, we had a really wonderful time

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We are so glad you had a lovely time here with us, thank you for your feedback. Our premium camping field may be better for you going forward. These have larger pitches and a central area in the middle of the field for playing. We shall certainly look forward to welcoming you to the farm again.
With very best wishes

Liked Spacious pitches with nice hedges separating them. Very quiet. Great cafe/restaurant right next door. Owner was very helpful and friendly. Great for dogs. Toilets and showers nice and clean.

Disliked Only a small thing - hot water taps were only luke warm or cold in the toilets.

Lawson's Lane primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Absolutely loved our stay at Orchard View Farm. The site is supplied by clean toilets, sinks and shower and fresh drinking water. The wood is Namibian wood, which we cooked steaks on and it was the best steaks we've ever had. We put that down to the wood. It also burnt beautifully. Overall, we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Local attractions

Ease yourself into your escape slowly by setting off on walks through the Chiltern Hills (five minutes’ drive). This National Landscape is a 324-square-mile chalk escarpment running from the River Thames in Oxfordshire to Hitchin in Hertfordshire. Highlights here include Wendover Woods, a Forestry Commission collection of trees with fitness and cycling trails, while four miles away (and 15 minutes’ drive from the park) is Aylesbury with its hodgepodge of Georgian, Jacobean and Tudor architecture. Browse the Bucks County Museum’s local history and culture exhibits, making sure to stop by the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery for displays championing the characters from the novelist’s books. Just outside the town, wander around Waddesdon Manor, a French-inspired chateau with gorgeous gardens, or turn back the clock to the 1940s at Bletchley Park (40 minutes), the country house where the Allies broke the enigma code during the Second World War. If city trips are what you fancy, set off for the compelling colleges of Oxford (35 minutes) or the spectacular sights of Central London (an hour and 20 minutes).
