Liked Everything, one of our favourite sites. This isn’t a small site but it well spaced out, large pitches and great facilities. The farm shop, cafe and the fruit/veg and plant stall outside are all great additions along with the added luxury of the swim spa. Great on site dog walk and also a nice walk to the local pub. Also the local area is great to get out and explore.

Liked Great site, all facilities immaculately clean, lovely spacious pitches, very well laid out and immaculately kept, the location is very scheduled but was ideal for us, lovely village close by and both pubs we tried for food. Just over a mile to a bus stop to Pickering and Scarborough. I hope the cafe will be back open next time I stay.

Disliked Only a slight niggle the push button showers didn’t stay on long enough but I understand why these are in place.

Liked Everything. Great site, great sized pitches, dog walk is fantastic. The farm shop and cafe are an added bonus. Lovely food and somewhere to go of an evening is great.

Liked Great location, 3rd stay for the great north run, walked to derwent water this year which was a lovely walk, good sized pitch, nice and private and pub right next door. Clean facilities and nice hot showers.

Disliked The toilet and showers are still not finished. This really does need sorting, it’s not nice stepping out of a lovely warm shower onto a concrete floor.

Liked The site is amazing, never fails, the farm shop and cafe are a great addition to the site, the dog walk is fantastic, the pizza was very nice on Saturday night and having the fresh fruit and flowers over the weekend is great. We have stayed many times and really love this site. Met some lovely friendly people. The majority of the staff are amazing.

Disliked Everything was great until almost the last minute and I will not lie this has left a bitter taste after such a lovely stay. To be “accused and integrated” by a new warden as we left is not what I expected. Is this your first stay? No. Are you aware of our one way system? Yes. You came the wrong way I watched you on CCTV. MOST CERTAINLY DIDNT. Is your van hired? No. Then to say after all this, Have you been on the camping field? Nope. So perhaps after all the false accusations she maybe should have been paying more attention rather than unnecessarily questioning us. Hopefully this warden will change her attitude or move on as this is not the way to treat customers.

Liked The location, visited many times and the location is definitely key for me. Peaceful, relaxing but within each access of places to visit. Excellent dog field. Lovely spacious pitches.

Liked Really like the pitch location, lovely peaceful site next to a pub for food but make sure you book. Clean and hot showers, yet the facilities are very basic and would not be to a lot of people’s tastes. Always hand wash and toilet roll but never anything to dry your hands with. Will be back again next year no doubt for our pre-GNR ritual.

Disliked As above not really a dislike more of an observation.

Liked The site was beautiful, very well laid out, friendly staff, lovely pub for food. The really good sized pitches and a lovely walk across the fields close by to take the dog. Picnic benches in the middle, Electric and tv aerial connections on the pitch and great reception. Excellent for 1 night stop over.

Disliked The toilet situation. One toilet/shower for all 12 pitches and both in the same room. On arrival it was clean but quickly became wet and slippery once people used it, the site was full and it wasn’t adequate. Really let an otherwise beautiful site down.

Liked Everything. New Lodge is fantastic, adults only, great size pitches, lovely rural location, fantastic showers and toilets, dog exercise field is brilliant. The cafe and farm shop on site are amazing, the new lounge area is wonderful. Friendly, helpful and wonderful staff. Already booked again for our 4th visit.

Liked Fantastic sized pitches, lovely location, peace and quiet just cows and sheep for neighbours. Lovely dog walk. Tv aerials and water on every pitch. Wi-Fi was patchy but that didn’t bother me it was good to not have signal!

Liked Absolutely everything, great site, huge pictures, farm shop, cafe, amazing food, fantastic showers and facilities. Excellent dog walk. Swim spa was great. Staff friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

Liked The location, the peace and tranquility, the old orchard is a great size pitch with beautiful views. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Clean shower and toilet available.

Disliked Only thing lacking was somewhere to wash the pots but this was no major drama.

Liked Absolutely lovely site, beautifully kept and extremely peaceful and relaxing. Fantastic clean facilities and very friendly and welcoming staff. Great walks straight from the site for the dogs. Really lovely stay, really enjoyed the ice cream van coming around on Friday afternoon lovely touch.

Disliked One family spoiling it for everyone on the last day, but that’s not the sites fault they do everything they can to make it a wonderful place it’s just inconsiderate people who are disrespectful towards others, disturbing everyone’s peace and leaving the toilets in a mess.

Liked The location of the site is great, it is clean and well laid out and lovely and peaceful. The showers and toilets are spotlessly clean. Electric and water on each pitch.

Disliked There was an issue with hot water during our stay, the showers would not get warm and the taps in the sink took a very long time to get any warm water through, this may have been to do with the ongoing building work as this was not an issue last year.

From the manager: Thanks for your review, Rebecca! I wish you had told us about the water while you were here as we have discovered an urgent issue with our heat exchanger. Our plumber is coming out as an emergency to fix the issue but we have been unaware of it for several days. Please always bring issues to us so that we can fix them as quickly as possible. We hope to see you again once this issue is fixed!

Liked Lovely location, peaceful, wonderful views, large pitches, excellent clean toilet and shower facilities. Can’t wait to come back soon. Excellent WiFi.

Disliked The showers could have been closer to the site rather than at the main house but regardless of the walk excellent facilities.
