Power optional grass site
Liked Friendly helpful staff. Fresh croissants. Easy to park. Luck of the draw I suppose but we met lots of lovely people and dogs.
Disliked The surfaces of the pitches could have been better and more all weather. Quite a few aren’t level and have a slight uphill approach which would make getting out in heavy rain tricky possibly although we had no problem.

From the manager: Thank you for your review! We’re happy you enjoyed our friendly team, fresh croissants and the atmosphere. We appreciate your feedback regarding the pitches and hope to welcome you back soon!

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Very peaceful secluded place. Atmospheric and nice.
Disliked Not much. Bit awkward to drive into in a big vehicle and too many work vans parked around which makes access more difficult for a 9m rig towing a car.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site
Liked Great place all round to stay. This was our third stop and it never disappoints. Fantastic walks across the road with the dog and if you are into it you can cycle too. Very varied and long tracks through pine forest.
Disliked Not much. Pitches could do with being a metre or two longer and a bit wider.

Liked Generous sized walks on site for the dog. Relaxed atmosphere. Lots of birdsong. Area around lakes very picturesque. Facilities work well enough. We grew to like the place more the longer we stayed there (a week) and would come back. The area is a revelation. It's near Silverstone and has Bicester, Brackley, Blenheim and Oxford not too far away. We found the area a really nice mix of rural and modern. Lots of supermarkets and charging stations for evs if you are into that.
Disliked One chemical waste disposal point next to reception and that's it. Nowhere to drain grey waste which was odd - unless you are expected to use the washstand. There is an rv wash point which is a great idea but it is very decrepit. Overall it felt in need of modernising. Our EHU and water post had the power flap broken off and it was covered in lichen. It worked - it just looked ramshackle. The hardstanding surfaces were hardly there and would benefit from new material. Pitches are far too close together. Don't order anything from Amazon. There was a power cut during a storm because some power lines had come down elsewhere but no one communicated that to us - or when the power came back on. When we were at a site in Scotland during Storm Amy and there was a risk of flooding, a warden came round every two hours until 2.00 am when they told us the river level was finally subsiding. Not as serious by any means but it would have been appreciated.

Gold fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site
Liked Nice setting surrounded by birdsong with endless great walks for the dog straight from the site. The pubs and farm shop in Berwick St James are a walk away and Stonehenge is a few minutes by car. Don't take the dog though. Garage on main road sells LPG via a bayonet only and is an off licence. Chemical waste and rubbish disposal right there which is unusual these days.
Disliked Men's shower a bit ancient and just the one. Heated though. Could do with more serviced larger hardstanding pitches.

Liked Hospitality. Space.
Disliked Gate is a bit of a tight squeeze for anything over 7.5 m but not impossible.

Liked Very clean site with a great view of the river. Pitches are massive. Pool and sunbathing area immaculate.
Disliked Entrance/exit on a curve on a slope. Very narrow.

Powered grass site
Liked Ease of access. Condition of pitch. Location. Facilities. Level pitch. The site is next to a dyke and lined with trees. There is a pub next door which is handy. You also have access to the ferry which runs constantly. It is a five minute run across the river but will save you an hour’s driving if that’s the direction you want to travel. I thought overall it is a great location. Remote and peaceful.
Disliked Grey water drain difficult to line up as it is an 18 inch hole near a pitch which obstructs access to the field. I would prefer a grate type structure like in a car wash.
