Peaceful place to relax

Sept 2026

Liked A very peaceful site with no facilities other than a water tap. We had a friendly welcome from one of the owners on arrival. She recommended a location to park. We were fortunate to enjoy the whole site to ourselves and so could choose where we pitched up. We chose a gorgeous spot overlooking one of the ponds. There are no marked pitches, you choose where to park up. The field is a bit lumpy so drive with care. The area around the pond is flat but further away from the pond is likely to need levelling blocks. The location is full of wildlife. We saw a tawny owl, a pair of red kites, a flock of chattering jackdaws, a heron, an egret, and squirrels. We even heard a barn owl in the tree above us. There’s also the resident swan and farm animals in nearby fields. We ate at the local pub, The George, which was a 5 minute walk away. The food was great and it was a real bonus having a pub so close. The pub also serves breakfast but we didn’t try this. A special location that deserves a good review, but a place that you want to keep all to yourself!

Disliked An Elsan point and bins would be great to be able to stay a bit longer.

Wonderful small site

Jul 2026

Liked - Very neat and well thought out site. - Fully serviced and hard standing pitches. - A shower that had the most hooks and shelving I’ve ever seen - a very useable space. - A ‘dog spa’ that we made the most of and we washed our two dogs. - An amazing dog paddock. Our rescue ex-street dog can’t be let off normally, her recall is too unreliable, but we made the most of the paddock and it was wonderful to see her enjoying running about. - Great views and beautiful area. - WiFi included - Warm welcome - Immaculate facilities, including the bins! - BBQ and picnic bench area - Lovely planting and gardens - Peaceful location with only the odd tractor passing by

Disliked Nothing. We only stayed one night and are very keen to return.

From the manager: Hi Alison and Stephen, lovely to receive your wonderful review, thank you. Glad to know your two beautiful dogs had a lovely time and your nervous dog had a pleasurable experience in the park and the dog spa. Thanks for the photos of the dogs, it's so lovely to see them having a happy holiday too. We keep the site including the bin store clean at all times to ensure our guests feel comfortable using our facilities. We're grateful everyone appreciates what we do. Please come back again anytime.

Lovely quiet site with a relaxing vibe

Mar 2026

Liked - The site has 8 hard standing pitches and takes a maximum of 6 bookings per night - so you always have a choice of at least 3 pitches, even if you’re last to arrive. Brilliant. - A lovely atmosphere on site, a quirky toilet/shower ‘block’ with 2 toilet/showers and 1 gents loo and 1 ladies loo (not sure why they need labelling for a specific gender though!). All kept clean with cleaners on site each day I was there. - Quirky on-site little shop inside a retro caravan. - Nice peaceful feel and quiet hours from 9pm to 7am. There is some road noise from cattle grids nearby but it’s infrequent. - Contactless check in with helpful text messaging from the owner. - Ground is uneven but levelling blocks are provided from behind the toilets, if you don’t have your own - great idea. - Water is hot and water pressure is strong watch makes for a lovely hot shower. - There were some flights overhead going to East Midlands Airport but not really that noticeable. It might be more noticeable in other wind conditions. I just like using the Flight Radar app to work out where they’re coming from! - I didn’t bring a fire pit but saw others using one. One of the glamping pods has a wood-fired hot tub so I’m assuming the fire pits are also permitted. - Eco Green toilet chemicals required, but the provided toilet facilities may mean you don’t need to use this anyway.

Disliked - No grey waste point.

Peaceful site and great location for Derbyshire Dales/ White Peak

Mar 2026

Liked Spacious pitches with lovely views of the surrounding Derbyshire Dales. The owner rang on the morning before our arrival and gave us our pitch number and arrival instructions. We were just finished reversing into our pitch and he had already arrived to greet us. He was very friendly, and even gave us an information sheet about pubs and other local amenities. The site is in easy reach of the Tissington Trail. There was an honesty box for reasonably priced fresh eggs from the farm. We enjoyed a box of delicious eggs! The site is for units with their own toilet and washing facilities. Each pitch has a shared water tap and EHU. There’s a chemical waste point (green chemicals only). No dedicated grey waste point but used water can drain into the gravel or put into the edges. Very convenient and easy. We loved the relaxed and peaceful feel and while we didn’t get much warm weather in our late March visit, we did get to sit out while the sun made a brief appearance and we really enjoyed the picturesque location. We hope to return soon and enjoy some more sunshine!

Disliked Nothing. Minimal facilities usually means a peaceful site and relaxing experience.

Lovely adult only site with great views, looking forward to next visit

Oct 2025

Liked - Quiet, peaceful, and adult only - Valley views - inside area with sofas, tea & coffee making facilities, fridge/freezer - toilets and showers are clean - friendly owners, good communication - big EHU grass pitches

Disliked Minor quibbles - one shower in the ladies which could easily get busy when the site is full - shower room was a little cold, radiator wasn’t on

Lovely peaceful site in gorgeous setting, very minor dislikes

Sept 2025

Liked - peaceful site - countryside location - friendly site managers - toilet and shower block was clean and well looked after - the pitch we chose was spacious and had some hedging - beautiful lakes and well maintained grass areas - dog friendly (on leads)

Disliked - showers were extra cost and I forgot to bring change - most pitches were in a row without hedging - some road noise, particularly from a nearby cattle grid, quietens at night

This place was a convenient location…

Aug 2025

Liked This place was a convenient location to meet up with friends. We were allowed to pitch up together despite our different bookings. At the time, we had clean toilets and shower blocks. Nice touch that the water block was warm. The bin areas were clear and clean. Perfect for larger groups as pitches are spaces.

Disliked Not everyone was happy to read the sign and close the door on the water block; perhaps a self-closing door would easily solve the problem and save energy, too. No clear boundaries to the pitches, which later on in the evening resulted in asking a group of children to stop running around, as we had a sensitive dog with us. We understand it is not an adult-only site; however, this has interrupted our peace. The downside to the large pitches is that larger groups naturally get noisy. M69 is close by and, depending on the wind, it is noticeable. (take earplugs)

We will definitely return. Dislikes are minor, we love the location

Jul 2025

Liked - Proximity to the marina and beach is excellent and pitch views look out to the lighthouse and beyond across the Solway Firth and the hills of Dumfries and Galloway. - Clean toilets and showers, accessed by a fob to prevent public access (see point below in dislikes) - On site cafe within a couple of minutes walk with good food and coffee, served by friendly staff. - Town just a few minutes walk away (normally - the bridge was in repair while we were there which made the walk/drive much further) - Friendly Marina staff on check in and check out - pitch 16 was a good location, a short grass mound behind gave some privacy from the walk way alongside the dock (so our dogs couldn’t see other dogs!) - WiFi signal was strong and reliable, we watched YouTube using it and had no issues. - nearby Lidl supermarket was well stocked and easy to access in our campervan. - The marina dock is close which is great and even with passers-by it’s still a quiet area.

Disliked - We arrived on the day of the town festival/carnival and were not warned to only try and access the site by a specific route to avoid road closures - pitches were of the smaller end of those we’ve seen - particularly with the next point in mind -> - no guidance given about side of pitch to put awnings onto - it meant we were hemmed into our pitch on some days because both pitches either side were facing onto our area. One neighbour had an enormous tent (not awning) next to his van (not campervan) which took up more than half the shared area. Luckily we were leaving anyway. - The site is a little exposed to the public. You need a fob to enter and exit in a vehicle which gives security, but foot access is open to the side of the site so everyone can walk along the dockside and to the cafe. Not a huge issue but something to be aware of. - waste recycling is limited to glass only.

Peaceful, small, with all the essential facilities we needed

Aug 2024

Liked The site is small, simple and with all the basic things you’ll need. One toilet, one shower, chemical toilet disposal, water, bins, and outdoor washing up area. There are 6 pitches with electric hook up and 6 without. All have gravel hard standing and grass and are level. The owner gave helpful instructions for self check in and we chose from the available non-electric pitches. We chose the end pitch and reversed in so we had an unobstructed view of the adjoining fields. Lovely. It’s a very peaceful site which overlooks fields and trees. Ideal if you want a quiet escape. We really like adult only and smaller sites for that reason. We met the owner later on and she was very friendly and helpful. Recommended and this is on our list of places we would happily return to.

Disliked Nothing. The facilities were limited but clean, tidy, and exactly as described.

Peaceful and pretty location

Jul 2024

Liked A quiet site in a rural location. Views across the fields were lovely with at least one footpath nearby. All pitches are grass with electric hook up. The facilities included: drinking water tap, grey water disposal, chemical toilet disposal, and rubbish/recycling bins. No wifi but phone signals were good. A resident warden was on site during our stay.

Disliked Sadly it rained heavily during our 1 night stay so we didn’t get out to enjoy the area much here. No fault of the site.
