A lovely, tidy, peaceful spot with a pool & tennis courts. Clean loos, lots of space. Shady spots & big pitches a hit. Gates lock 10pm (late entry possible). Showers can get messy, gets busy.

Liked Very nice site had everything that we wanted, swimming pool, tennis, even Dutch bingo. Was able to order bread every day wash rooms clean and tidy plenty of playing areas.

Disliked Gates been locked at 22.00, midnight a more realistic time. The owner did say we could ring her if we where going to be later than 22.00.

Liked Beautiful quiet location with great shower and toilet facilities and also washing stations for all your cooking accessories. We did not use the swimming pool but it looked lovely and saw people using it every day we were on site. A beautiful site and we would definitely come back again.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Local attractions

Start your local wanderings by taking the 10-minute walk up to the nearest village, Meppen, a cute little place that’s famed for its traditional thatched farmhouses and tall oak trees. Bike hire is also available if you’ve not brought your own. With kids in tow, there are several great family-friendly days out nearby. 20 minutes’ drive away in Emmem is Wildlands Adventure Zoo, while fairytale fans should head to Kabouterland in Exloo, 25 minutes away, to spend the day searching the magic forest for trolls, gnomes and other fantastic folk. For more adrenaline-fuelled excitement, the huge Slagharen theme park is only about a half-hour drive from here, and has enough rides and shows to keep you all giddy for hours on end. If you’d like to learn a little about local history, head to the Hunebedcentrum archaeological museum, half an hour’s drive from the site.
