Camping La Baume

Just arrived? Fréjus (10 minutes' drive) is the place to start with its plentiful beaches, food outlets and family-friendly activities: there's Aqualand Fréjus for when you're happy to get wet, Luna Park's big rides for an adrenaline kick and International Racing Karting for whooshing round at a high speed. But it's not all action-packed around here: head to the Observatoire De La Vasière birdwatching area (15 minutes) if you feel it's time to escape to an oasis of calm. Slightly further afield there are plenty of scenic South of France sights to see along the coast, from the stunning Château de la Napoule (30 minutes) and Château De Théoule (30 minutes) to Cannes' old port (35 minutes) with its yachts and watersports. Inland, set yourself in the direction of Grasse (45 minutes) to visit its impressive cathedral and to sniff out new fragrances at its famed perfume museum. Draguignan (30 minutes) is another popular option, with lots of food options plus Neolithic heritage and an artillery museum, as is the remote Abbaye du Thoronet (40 minutes) where the peace and quiet is second to none.
