Quiet lakeside location for the peaceful vibes or handy town setting for the convenience of being able to walk to a shop? No need to choose when you’re staying at Camping Ardresien – this Nord-Pas-de-Calais site is in a particularly choice position in the town of Ardres, about five minutes’ walk from the town centre, which hosts summer night markets. In the other direction, it's just a three-minute walk from Lac d’Ardres (along a direct path), a popular spot for pedal boating, renting small boats, slurping on an ice cream or watching the annual July fireworks. This family-run site is a friendly and laidback site where pets and kids are welcome and pitches are quiet and well kept. A play area and pétanque court are on site, along with picnic tables where you can serve up your meals (cooked on a barbecue if you’d like to bring one along). The highlight for many people, though, is the private fishing pond, available for guests to use during their stay. The edge-of-town location is a very handy one that puts you just a few minutes’ walk from a good variety of shops and places to eat, along with other amenities like banks and a post office. Being about 20 minutes’ drive from Calais is another bonus on the location front too, as it puts cross-channel travellers within easy reach of the ferry port (and makes this site a good choice for a first or last night). The nearby coast isn’t all about ferries, of course – you’ll also be able to get to a nice sandy beach or a coastal nature reserve. Turning the other way, there are lots of walks and other outdoor activities in the Caps et Marais d’Opales Regional Natural Park.

Great spot near Calais and town. Pitches usually private, serviced. Staff are legends, super helpful. Showers can be limited, need tokens. No TP supplied, standard for France. Bit snug for big rigs at the gate.

Liked Quiet and relaxed site with option of pond fishing. Facility block clean and does what it needs to do.

Disliked Bin area overflowing and a number of permanent residential units.

Liked Really pretty site, with hedges around each pitch providing privacy. Clean toilets.
Lovely old lady that gets you, she couldn't be nicer!
Great location for the town centre and at a really good price.
Will definitely use it again.

Disliked Only 1 shower in each side of the block (men and women) so you might have to queue.

Liked Very friendly welcome. Good location - only 25 minutes or so to Le Shuttle, and interesting lake area to walk around in the evening (along with somewhere to eat - La Fregate. Great setting by the lake. Quite buzzing on a Monday evening). Free wifi at our pitch.

Liked Jean Luca was very very very friendly showed us to our pitch as we was longer than the campsite stated and he said it was no problem what so ever as our holiday campsite called in advance for us.

He helped us reverse on to the pitch and showed us everything on the pitch.

Our pitch already had the electric hook up for us and also its own water and grey waste, also the chemical waste was in the same place. After that Jean showed me where I would be leaving as we was so long and the best direction to head out of the campsite the next morning which was was leaving at 6am for our ferry home.

I would highly recommend this campsite as Jean was so friendly and nothing was too much for him.

We didn’t try the WiFi as our caravan has internet in it.

Disliked The only dislike was our neighbors was up till 2.30 in the morning talking loudly and with the lights on and we didn’t get to much sleep.

But apart from that nothing else to dislike
