Motorhome pitch with space for an awning
Sunny and shaded pitch area
Pitches marked out by trees and hedges
Family-friendly campsite

  • Spacious pitches at a peaceful tree-filled Burgundy site
  • A 15-minute drive to Sens; 45 minutes to Château de Fontainebleau
  • On the edge of Sergines, 10 minutes' walk from village facilities
Staying outdoors in the gorgeous Burgundy countryside is a wonderful thing – but then, so is staying in a village where you’ll simply be able to stroll to various useful amenities like shops and places to eat. How handy, then, that you can find both in one place at the quiet Camping Beauséjour – this peaceful and pretty site is packed with flowers, trees and other greenery, and it’s surrounded by the lovely landscapes of the Yonne region. With spacious grass pitches marked out by hedges for privacy and shade, it has the feeling of a real rural retreat. In fact, this is also a village location, as it’s on the edge of Sergines, about 10 minutes’ walk from a grocery store, bakery, pharmacy, bar and two pizzerias. And if that’s not quite convenient enough, there’s a bar and grocery store on site too. Other facilities on site include a pétanque court and playground for some entertainment, and various essentials including a launderette, washing-up area and bathroom block with accessible facilities. Days out from this site might take you to wander around local towns like Sens or Provins, to explore the nearby vineyards or to spend time in the open air – perhaps hiking, fishing, cycling or climbing trees.

What customers say

A peaceful rural escape with roomy, shaded sites and spotless amenities. Friendly staff and an on-site shop are highlights. Some found it pricey with uneven pitches. Wi-Fi's spotty. Great for adults or a stopover.

Liked Easy access off A5, very quite and tidy site. Booked on the move while travelling back from Switzerland too england for a one night stop over. Last check in at 8pm so worked in our favour as most in area wanted a 6pm last check in time.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Friendly, helpful owners. We only booked last minute due to an issue with our previous campsite booking, they messaged us to ensure we were able to access the site if we arrived after the reception and barrier closed. Very clean facilities. Nice size pitches.

Liked The owner was pleasant

Disliked Too rustic, plot not cleaned, cigarette butts on the floor, generally untidy.
Facilitates average
No bar or snack bar open
Seemed to be more of a residential site rather than a tourist site
Quite disappointed as description sounded good
Not for us
Paid for three nights left after 2
Nearby village partly inaccessible due to road and path closures although not the sites fault.

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked We had a fantastic stay at this lovely campsite! The site itself was beautiful and well kept, and the hosts were absolutely wonderful—so friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond to help us organise our trip into Paris for the day, which made everything so much easier when travelling as a family.

There’s a lovely little shop on site for essentials, and having a nice beer at the end of a busy day was the perfect way to relax and unwind.

The campsite is also in a lovely little village, with a fantastic pizza takeaway that was absolutely amazing! There’s also a lovely bakery just a short walk away, perfect for picking up fresh bread and pastries in the morning.

Overall, we had a brilliant stay and would definitely recommend this campsite to families and anyone looking for a friendly, relaxing base with everything you need close by. We’d happily stay here again!

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked Great for a relaxed stop-over on our way back from Chambery to Calais. We could choose our pitch so opted for shady, as it was baking hot, over totally flat. Large pitches with hedges around. Shower/toilet block was fairly basic but clean and central to the site. Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Handy shop and gas on site.

Local attractions

If your main aim is to spend time in the open air, you’ll have plenty of options nearby – perhaps fishing in nearby rivers and lakes, clambering up into the trees at Jumping Forest (half an hour’s drive), riding the tracks of the Cyclo-rail de Puisaye (50 minutes) or walking through the Forêt d’Orient Regional Natural Park (an hour). Strolling around towns is a rewarding pursuit around here as well – the closest place of size is Sens (15 minutes), and it’s a lovely place where you can visit the cathedral and museum, shop at the covered market and explore the tropical greenhouses of Moulin à Tan Park. Nogent-sur-Seine and Villeneuve-sur-Yonne (both 25 minutes) are both great options if you’d like a riverside walk. A little further afield, your travels could take you for wanders in Auxerre or Troyes (both an hour), or even to Paris (around an hour and a half). Other grand days out nearby include the lavish Château de Fontainebleau (45 minutes) and the Palace of Versailles (an hour and a half), one of the most-visited historic sites in the world.
