  • Friendly rural site half an hour’s walk from Rhosneigr village
  • On the Isle of Anglesey, with views of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park
  • Watersports, golf course and places to eat or drink in the village
Looking for an Isle of Anglesey retreat that feels just right? Trewan Sands Caravan Park, a rural country site 20 minutes’ drive from Holyhead, should be a strong contender for those who want good views combined with the convenience of being able to walk to the beach and local village. This friendly site has lovely views of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and is run by Anglesey locals Fiona and Carl. One of the handiest things about this site is that it’s half an hour’s walk from the village of Rhosneigr, where there’s a beach, golf course and no shortage of places to grab a pint, coffee or a bite to eat. You’ll need that energy for watersports, which are popular activities in Rhosneigr alongside strolls along the coastal path. This is a very rural area, near the RAF Valley and a railway line (with great potential for spotting occasional steam trains), but there's some 5G phone signal and wifi on site. Lively Holyhead and the seaside resort of Trearddur Bay are both a 20-minute drive away. Big supermarkets are in Llangefni, 20 minutes’ drive in the opposite direction. Facilities at Trewan Sands Caravan Park include an outdoor washing-up area and blocks for toilets and showers; the showers are token-operated, so require a small additional fee. Recycling is mandatory, with recycling bins placed by the entrance to the site. Families and dogs are all welcome here.

What customers say

This peaceful spot has big pitches & spotless loos/showers, restocked daily. Great for watching planes from RAF Valley, with stunning Snowdonia views & close to Rhosneigr's beaches. Owners are super friendly & helpful, even in bad weather. Plane noise & a train line are there, but most didn't mind. A top base for Anglesey & military aviation fans.

Power optional grass tent site (four person)

Liked The location of the campsite is right next RAF Valley, so a great location to watch Hawks and Texans taking off Monday through to Friday. The toilets and shower blocks are clean and looked daily by the owner.

Disliked The noise of the aircraft might not suit everyone, plus the trainline that runs alongside the campsite from 6am uptil midnight may cause some irritation.

Unpowered grass motorhome site

Liked Lovely peaceful site in the middle of nowhere with views of Snowdonia. Large pitches with separate area for caravans. Near RAF airfield we loved watching the jets practising on Friday evening! Lots of room for the little one to run and all fenced in so he could toddle off and us not have to parent too much! Winner!

We had a track day at Anglesey Circuit, which was only around 15–20 minutes away ideal to avoid an early start! (If you don’t have a toddler in tow that is!) Rhosneigr town with multiple sandy beaches is 10/15 drive gift & surf shop, restaurants, pizza/chippy and a One Stop but is only a small place. Oyster catcher is very local but we didn’t get chance to visit 😭

The owners were on site, really friendly and helpful, and even let us look around their caravan as we’re debating the move from campervan to caravan, which we really appreciated! Thankyou!!

The toilet and shower facilities are simple but all you need and were kept stocked and tidied daily. Actually a better setup for the little one than most sites that have the full works going on! Showers are £1 tokens but proper electric showers with 8 minutes, rather than timers! Small washing up area but again all you need!

Good place to bring the bikes!

This will now become our go to place for future track days- will be back again soon!

Disliked Not a dislike as didn’t give us any issues or grumbles but more of a ‘just so you know!’

There is a train track right behind the site- only 2/3 carriages tended to pass and seconds whilst doing so. We pitched up with bushes in between us and the track and didn’t affect us in the slightest. Didn’t pass during the night either (we stayed Friday- Sunday)

Liked The owners were lovely, lots of space, fairly clean facilities, easy to access Rhosneigr.

Disliked Was quite loud at night due to being next to a train track and a raf base.

Liked Fantastic site, just what we wanted.
Booked last minute for a one night getaway with the kids. I had booked the last space so I assumed it would be quite cramped but there was plenty of space.
It's right next to the airfield so we could watch the planes which was great fun.
The owner was very attentive, he came around a few times to see if we needed tokens for the shower and to advise us to move to a better spot. The shower and toilet blocks were kept clean and regularly maintained.
Only positives to say about this place, we will definitely return.

Power optional grass tent site (six person)

Liked Brilliant facilities within little walking distance from tent pitch, had everything you need for camping.I notified the Owner about a blocked plug hole in shower and he immediately dropped what he was doing and straight away fixed the problem. We had a horrendous storm with high winds and rain, again the owner was out all night checking on everyone and making sure tents where ok and secure. We had amazing views in the morning of RAF jets taking off whilst we was having a morning tea.Highly recommend this site for everyone from families to couples, can’t wait to book again.

Route directions

Follow these directions to avoid narrow lanes: After leaving the A55 at Junction 5, turn right at the top of the slip road (if your Satnav device says to turn left, ignore it because it's a very narrow lane). Go across the next roundabout, turn left at the next junction. In Bryngwran, continue past the pub (on the left) and take the next left (at the cream house). The route is then straightforward, following directions on Google Maps; look out for a sign on the telegraph post for Trewan House. After the sign, go over a small bridge and cattle grid onto the gravel road. Continue past the two campsites on the left, and keep right down the gravel track through the golf course.
