What customers say

A top spot! Clean, spacious sites, great owners, spotless loos, and a decent bar. Good base for Anglesey. A bit of road noise for tents and no shop on-site, but most loved it and want to come back.

Liked Owners very friendly. Facilities very clean. Water tap on each electric pitch. Liked the on-site bar but didn’t avail as had young children! Used information in campsite office to plan daily trips that were easily accessible by car (snowden, caenaerfon, portmerrion, llandanduo). I bought a 2pound coffee from the Coffee machine in office each day.

Disliked I was aware from other reviews that it was possible to hear the traffic from busy A55 at night.

Liked The owner Eirian called in advance to tell us our pitch number. Signage on arrival was straight forward leading to our electric tent pitch that was level and spacious for our large family tent.
Showers, toilets and washing up facilities were clean and well maintained. Even though the site was full at times during our stay there was no queuing and the site overall didn't feel crowded at any time.
Eirian was a good, friendly host who took pride in her site and wanted to make sure her guests enjoyed their stay.

We were blessed with Mediterranean type weather during much of our stay so we found no shortage of things to do: beaches at Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr, walk down to and tour of South Stack Lighthouse, mini-golf and driving range at Llangefni, rib ride from Beaumaris etc, not to mention the race night in the campsite bar and marshmallow toasting at our pitch!

Disliked We had our own electric cool box but during the hot weather the fridge and freezer facilities were welcome for freezing ice blocks etc. One guest however left raw unwrapped chicken in the fridge - not hygienic at all, though obviously no fault of the site.
The WiFi was good at the facilities block. It couldn't be received at the tent but I don't go on holiday to use the internet!
There was some road noise from the nearby A55 but we only noticed it after sunrise, and it was sorted with a pair of good ear plugs!

Liked Very spacious pitch which was very well maintained and had electric hook up and water. The shower block was exceptionally clean and I usually don't use them and use my own but used their facilities as they were so good. The staff were so friendly and there is an onsite bar and board games and books for you to use. Would recommend for family or couples.

Liked Lovely, well maintained site. We stayed on an electric pitch which was very spacious and each pitch has its own tap which is useful. There is a large area in front of the tents for children to play. Toilet, shower and washing up facilities are spotless. The site owners are extremely friendly and helpful

Local attractions

Anglesey’s got 140 miles of coastline to explore, so it’s hard whittling down the beaches you definitely need to check out. It’s worth sticking Porth Swtan – Church Bay – on the list, though, as this is a particularly pretty stretch of sand within 20 minutes’ drive. Wanting a wander? The coastal path is closer (10 minutes), so head here too for strolls with a view of the sea. Inland spots for sauntering about include the multicoloured landscape of Parys Mountain (25 mountains), an old copper mine dug up in the 18th century and then left as it is. Stop by Llynnon Mill enroute, to see Wales’ last working windmill and another worthwhile sightseeing spot, before zig-zagging back to the eastern shores and poking around the Barclodiad y Gawres cruciform passage grave, one of the most interesting Neolithic-era archaeological sites on the island (10 minutes). On your return to the park, detour up to South Stack (20 minutes) and peer at the puffins from the RSPB centre on the cliffs. Not far from here is a port where ferries leave to Ireland, so if you fancy making a very big detour to Dublin that’s also possible…
