And that’s no exaggeration… This family-run farm site on the island’s north-eastern side is 10 minutes’ drive from the postcard-pretty Trearddur Bay and 15 from the sweeping sands of Rhosneigr and Traeth Llydan. Set your sights on the seaside, then treat yourself to more views back on base – Bryn Goleu looks out over the distant peaks of Snowdonia National Park in one direction and Holyhead Mountain in the other, so you can plonk a chair down on the open grassy space and take in the top scenery. All sorts of travellers are welcome at this family-friendly site, including the four-legged variety. Let the dog scamper around the grounds or take them off on longer walks at local hiking hotspots like the cliffs around South Stack (20 minutes). Planning on making it all the way up to Anglesey via buses and trains? Perfecto: the site offers pick-up from public transport.

Liked Great flat spacious pitches with both water & EHU for each pitch. Amazing facilities that were spotless. Bar on site and the seasonal made us very welcome and very reasonably priced drinks. Just loved the whole weekend. Also the most lovely hosts.

Liked A lovely well presented site. The owners are friendly and welcoming and have invested in super facilities both in the pitches and the other facilities in the main building. Yes the site is adjacent to the A5 and the A55 is beyond that but we didn't really feel the there was an issue with road noise

Liked This site was amazing, it was clean and tidy and the lady who owns the site was fabulous with the kids and ourselves, nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely be back again soon, thankyou for having us.
Facilities were the best we have stayed at and the children said "this is the best campsite we have ever been too"

Liked Large pitches. Beautifully kept. Nice walks for our dog. Dog exercise area for him to play. Lovely friendly owners. Nice bar on site 😁

Disliked Storm Dave! Absolutely nothing to do with the camp site but he paid a visit. Luckily the bar was open so spent a lovely night with entertainment in there.

Disliked Had booked partly because they advertised a club house. On arrival we were told the clubhouse would not be open because there weren't enough people staying.
We had an awning attached to our van. During high winds the pegs would not hold in the hard standing so we had a struggle to take it down. The owners saw us as they drove past but did not come to help us. We were booked for 4 nights but left after 2. The site is close to the A55 with a lot of vehicle noise.

From the manager: Good afternoon, thank you for your review.

It does state that we have a Bar on site however, nowhere to state when it is open! Mostly we open at the weekend and all customers are happy with this stating that it is a lovely added bonus to get together of an evening and they don't come here for the Bar only! You were informed on arrival of the opening hours and didn't respond that this was a problem for you.

Your awning was poorly erected from start, past customers having an awning on the said pitch have never had a problem and customers since then too. Not my fault you didn't have the correct pegs for it and obviously I cannot be responsible for the weather. (Believe you me I wish I could control the weather)


We did not drive past you at all!! When I returned to the office at the end of the afternoon I saw you from a distance packing the awning up. We often go beyond our duty to help people with their awnings but on this occasion it was too late, you were just finishing packing it up..

However, please remember that on arrival you were advised that if you had any problems or needed help with anything at all that you had my number to call, which you didn't.

Regarding the "vehicle noise" from the road, Yes of course we are next to a busy road and clearly states on the map where we are located.

Again, thankyou for your review - it has helped us to clear all points for future customers.

Local attractions

Anglesey’s got 140 miles of coastline to explore, so it’s hard whittling down the beaches you definitely need to check out. It’s worth sticking Porth Swtan – Church Bay – on the list, though, as this is a particularly pretty stretch of sand within 20 minutes’ drive. Wanting a wander? The coastal path is closer (10 minutes), so head here too for strolls with a view of the sea. Inland spots for sauntering about include the multicoloured landscape of Parys Mountain (25 mountains), an old copper mine dug up in the 18th century and then left as it is. Stop by Llynnon Mill enroute, to see Wales’ last working windmill and another worthwhile sightseeing spot, before zig-zagging back to the eastern shores and poking around the Barclodiad y Gawres cruciform passage grave, one of the most interesting Neolithic-era archaeological sites on the island (10 minutes). On your return to the park, detour up to South Stack (20 minutes) and peer at the puffins from the RSPB centre on the cliffs. Not far from here is a port where ferries leave to Ireland, so if you fancy making a very big detour to Dublin that’s also possible…
