Country walks, pub lunches and buckets full of beach trips… to list out every single thing you have to look forward to at Dinarth Hall Caravan and Camping would take some time, as this North Wales site is very conveniently based in the town of Rhos on Sea, 10 minutes’ drive from Llandudno and five minutes’ drive away from Colwyn Bay Beach. If you’re very much a countryside sort of person, it’ll be nice news that the site is on a working farm setting surrounded by fields and country walks with horses frequently passing by the site. There are just basic facilities, including toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a washing machine and dryer for laundry. There’s a lovely country pub just half an hour’s walk away for your supper or an American diner-style restaurant 10 minutes’ walk away in the other direction. If you’d rather sort yourself out, have a wander up the hill to the small shop 10 minutes’ walk away. The bus, which stops at the end of the road, comes just over every 10 minutes if you feeling like abandoning the car for the weekend. Not that you’ll need it that much if you’ve got beach days at the top of your agenda, because it’s only a 25-minute walk to Rhos on Sea beach and Colwyn Bay Beach is also within walking distance. If you’re driving to Colwyn Bay, there’s plenty of parking (and lots of ice cream vans to go with that). You may want to shift your watersports gear or bicycles down there, as there’s a cycling path along the front and often great conditions for some water activities.

  • Electricity is metered on site at £0.42 per kWh and must be paid onsite by either debit/credit card via the website link/QR code provided on the meter, or at the office.

A working farm site with roomy spots and stunning views. Friendly staff and good bus access. Facilities are basic but clean. Can get muddy after rain, and it might be noisy when busy.

Disliked Partying campers playing music and shouting until at least 3am. Minimal sleep.

Liked Location is fantastic, the second tent pitch was spacious and quiet. Friendly staff and nice little cake shed and ‘essentials’ shed.

Disliked Facilities (toliets and showers) are extremely dark, no lights over the cubicles the ladies toilets so unless you have a torch you can’t see atall. Most of the toilet seats in both the men’s and women’s are coming off which is dangerous to slip off them. The taps were rusted and didn’t always work. Not very clean which obviously for a muddy campsite you expect, however they could have been cleaned more frequently. Didn’t get any Wifi on our pitch, it said it was too far out of reach.

Disliked Having to walk through the working farm to get to shower block
Very dated toilets /showers and not that clean
We had a large group of bikers who were very noisy well into the morning so very little sleep.

Liked Overall very good and well presented campsite. Would and will be visiting again

Disliked .Would benefit from and toilet block towards the bottom end of the site, (we stayed in the second field near the horses). Abit tricky having to go to the loo in the middle of the night after a few drinks. But overall enjoyed the stay and would and will visit again. Thank you

Liked That you could pitch any where on the no hook up camping pitch. The toilet were cleaned regularly and stocked with toilet paper. Staff were friendly .
There's a bus stop at the end of the street that takes you straight into Llandudno

Disliked The shower block was clean but could do with some up dating
The phone signal isn't great ( not the sites fault)

Liked Great campsite at very good central location. Showers & toilets very clean. Friendly staff. Bus stop at end of road to get into Llandudno about 10 mins away.

Disliked Really poor rules and enforcement, such a rowdy campsite and the facilities could do with modernisation.

Music blurring until 1-3 in the morning and arguments from certain pitches. Not very child friendly.

Liked Friendly reception, decent space in choice of fields. Great space for our young Grandson to ride his bike and walk to the horses.

Disliked Toilet block was dated, but functional.

Disliked Stayed twice before and loved it but this time was completely different experience. Dirty facilities that you really don’t want to use! Over crowed, music blasting all night, people walking round drunk, shouting and arguing. It’s a free for all site where you can do what you want and not show any respect for anyone else. I feel as though I’ve stayed at a festival! Avoid if you have children, the language and choice of songs where vile!!

Local attractions

Llandudno (10 minutes’ drive) is a cracking spot for a good wander, with shops, a pier, a promenade and a beach. You may spot a few goats wandering around the edge of town; they’ll have lost their way from Great Orme (20 minutes) just past Llandudno. The green limestone slopes of the Great Orme are not just for the goats, of course, with a tramway and a cable car providing access to the fab views from the 209-metre slope, a café or a playground. Back in Llandudno, get picked up by one of the open-top buses which run in summer from Llandudno Pier. They head over to stunning Conwy (10 minutes’ drive), past the spectacular 13th-century Conwy Castle, cobbled streets, bakeries and the cobbled streets typical of such a traditional Welsh port town.
