What customers say
A lovely, tidy riverside camp with top-notch, modern amenities, especially the private shower/toilet units. Site manager Chris gets shout-outs for being super friendly and helpful. While some note a bit of road noise and few local shops, most rave about the peace, great views, and welcoming staff. Lots keen to come back.

Great family site with very clean facilities!
Powered grass site
Liked I was particularly impressed by the friendly, professional staff and the spotless facilities. The toilets and showers were consistently clean and well maintained throughout our stay!
Disliked The site was quite dark when going to the toilet at the night time, would of been nice to see some solar lights on the floor leading towards the amenities area. Although there were some lights lighting up the electric and water points on the serviced pitches.

Liked Warm welcome from site manage, Chris. He’ll tell you everything you need to know and is on hand if needed. This was our 2nd stay here & we’ll be back again, i expect. Flat pitch - we opted for hard standing with EHU & water - surrounded by hills with kites flying overhead. Spotlessly clean facilities - you get a toilet, wash basin & shower in each cubicle (2 men’s, 2 women’s) plus hanging hooks & a stool, with plenty of room to not get your clothes wet and to dry off & dress comfortably, just like home. Indoor wash-up room too & warm when the temperature drops outside. Lovely friendly atmosphere (early August) busy with families of all ages playing games & making friends. The site runs adjacent to the road so you hear traffic but the bank of wild vegetation in between seems to absorb the sound & it didn’t bother us at all. The short walk to the village is do-able with great care but I wouldn’t want to do it with children as it’s a fast road with narrow or no verges. Delightful walks from there. Great little shop that also serves coffee & cake (limited opening times) & friendly pub with a cracking Sunday roast.
Disliked Being school summer hols there’s queueing in the morning, so take your showers later in the day if possible so folks don’t have to stand waiting with legs crossed when they’ve just got up! (This is NOT actually a dislike of the site, more a request to our fellow campers!)

Brilliant site with Immaculate facilities and welcoming site managers
Unpowered grass tent or campervan site
Liked This site is beautiful with amazing views and the river was an added bonus! It was kept pristine at all times by the site managers who were there almost all day and late into the evening- they were really friendly and couldn’t do enough to help.
The facilities were outstanding! Immaculate toilet block, with showers and loos all in one cubicle together which was so handy, it’s usually a struggle to keep clothes dry and to change when the floor is wet- but that wasn’t an issue at this site! There is also a separate sink area inside to wash pots and cooking equipment etc. These were easily the best facilities we have ever come across in our years of camping.
The pub was also under a 10 minute walk away and they do lovely food there. All around this is a brilliant camp site which was very peaceful and quiet as it’s quite large with two fields. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent facilities, beautiful, lovely staff.

Liked Super friendly staff. Beautiful spot with a little stream. Pitches were a great size. The facilities were the cleanest and the best we’ve ever seen. Heated indoor washing up area would make it great for winter. Strangely midge free for wales, don’t know if we just got lucky. Would definitely come again.
Disliked Could do with some extra toilets separate from showers.

Liked We originally booked an electric pitch, my bad, as we haven’t got an electric hook up in our van ! With one easy phone call to Aled, site owner, then arrival on site with the wonderful site manager Chris, we were shown suitable grass pitch where we could also park and pitch up the tent next door by a beautiful
River, all fenced off for safety but you could swim in there over the styles if you wanted too. Not too deep, just over knee height for an adult. Prime location close to Mach and Dolgellau and the local garage shop 5 minutes drive away sticks everything or something you may have forgotten.
A lovely village pub 10 minute walk down the road, lovely food and hosts there at the Penrhos Arms. Food only 6-8 though so book or don’t turn up later and expect to be fed. The site is perfectly safe for the children and not too noisy at all. All quiet by 11pm. Slept amazingly listening to the stream. The toilet and shower block were large and absolutely immaculate.. truly cannot rate this campsite any higher for location, customer care and cleanliness.. thank you for helping contribute to an amazing weekend !!
Disliked Absolutely nothing to dislike on site, perfect… only issue which has nothing to do with the campsite but a warning to parents is the main road walk to the pub, albeit only 10 mins if that, it’s a bit of a fast stretch if you have younger children.
