Llandrindod Hall Caravan and Camp Site: Level electric grass pitch

General

  • Small, family-run and friendly working farm close to Llandrindod Wells
  • Spectacular scenery for miles around
  • Next door to a golf course with clubhouse bar and restaurant

There's a lot going for small, friendly and family-run Llandrindod Hall Caravan and Camp Site at Llandrindod Wells in Powys.

First up, it's set in spectacular surroundings with just as spectacular views – and all within walking distance of the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells. Next, anyone up for angling? Coarse fishing is available on the town lake and fly fishing nearby on the River Ithon. Or how about teeing off – or a clubhouse tipple or vittle? An 18-hole golf course with clubhouse bar and restaurant is right next door.

And then there's the walking – and pedalling... several footpaths to explore start direct from the site, bike tracks are within easy reach, and 15 minutes' drive will take you to the strolls and wildlife watching of the handsome Elan Valley. Books? Hay on Wye is just 20 miles away.

Llandrindod Hall is a working farm, with excellently-kept amenities including modern toilets and showers, an indoor washing-up area and phone charger points for guests' use. Both barbecues and campfires are allowed, and – what a handy little touch – a butcher in Llandrindod Wells gives 10% off to Llandrindod Hall guests.

Please note

Protective masks must be worn at all times in common areas.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.

Nicely laid out site. Beautiful views down to the lake. facilities are very basic but very clean. Llandrindod Wells is a lovely town. 15 minute walk. The Lakeside cafe do an amazing Sunday lunch but you must book. We were unable to connect to the Talk Talk Wi-fi nor those by us ( our TV like many now run through the internet ) but this did not affect our stay as we have DVDs in our van. Nice overnight stay if you are exploring Wales.

    Nothing to dislike

From the manager...

We did not realise that there was a problem with the WiFi, this has now been rectified, the extension box which supplies part of the caravan site had an issue, the Wi-Fi is now very good on all areas of the site.
We hope this temporary issue did not spoil your stay with us.

Good, clean facilities, including big indoor washing up area. Great location, easy walk into town or onto the public footpaths that are accessed direct from the site and leading into the surroundings hills and fields. Perfect for our dogs. Well spaced pitches on 3 different levels with lovely views in all directions. Good 4g signal. We will return for another visit.

    Disliked:

Wifi did not stretch as far as the pitch and I was only able to connect when standing next to the farm building. However, 4g was good.

From the manager...

We had a problem with the WiFi extension box, this has now been rectified and all of the site now has WiFi reception.
We hope that this did not spoil your stay with us.

This campsite is a perfect if you want a relaxed stay with lots of walking, there's a public footpath over the road that takes you down to the lake where you can grab a light lunch, ice-cream or coffee, you can even hire a SUP board or dragon peddlo. The views from this terraced campsite are simply perfect, you can even spot the odd Red Kite flying around.

Two shower/bathrooms with two extra porta loo's if the shower/bathroom's are busy, personally I never had to wait but I am up early in the morning. Pitches were terraced & flat, its a matter of picking your own when you arrive which wasn't a problem, however it soon filled up after we arrived, Easter weekend. I had a lovely chat with the owner before we left, everyone was really friendly, both campers and the owners.

Well set out site with 4 small fields on different levels. Lovely location, very handy for the town. Very peaceful, great views.

    Disliked:

Only 2 showers. When we were there the site was quite empty so we didn't have to wait long but if the site was full I think this might be a problem particularly since there were also only 2 toilets and they were in with the showers (so you couldn't use the toilet if someone was showering). One of the showers was over a bath which got slippery and seems to be an accident waiting to happen.
