  • Peaceful park next to the River Forth, two miles from Aberfoyle
  • In Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, a half-hour drive from Stirling
  • Well-kept pitches with direct access to Loch Ard Forest; dogs welcome
If you’re setting off for Stirlingshire with your eye on finding lots of alfresco activities, you should certainly consider Cobleland Campsite as a base. A couple of miles south of Aberfoyle, this peaceful park is in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, just on the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. That setting means miles and miles of walking and cycling trails stretch out through the surrounding area, with fishing and golf close by too – and watersports, treetop trails, cliff jumping and the like for more intrepid guests. And in fact you don't have to travel far to get started on soaking up the spectacular scenery – you can simply stick around on site, where oak trees tower over the pitches and there’s a backdrop of pretty forest views with the River Forth running along one side of the site. Just beyond the river are paths taking you straight out into Loch Ard Forest for a woodland wander or a dog walk if you’ve brought your pet with you. The pitches at Cobleland are well tended and spacious, with access to all the essential amenities including a launderette, a washing-up area and chemical disposal as well as bathrooms with toilets, showers and disabled facilities. Aberfoyle (five minutes’ drive) has a small supermarket for supplies, plus several places to eat and drink.

What customers say

A lovely, well-kept spot by the river and woods. Guests rave about friendly staff, spotless facilities, and a great location for walks/bikes. Handy shop & food vans too. Pitches are private and level. Mostly great, with a few minor points; people want to come back!

Meadow powered grass and gravel site

Liked Absolutely amazing campsite. Enough room between everyone so you didn’t feel penned in The site was lovely Two sets of toilets and one shower block and washing and laundry facilities.

On the bank of a river with lots of walking areas

Disliked Can’t think of anything bad. Apart from toilets which were up a gravely slope but couldn’t be helped and didn’t put me off. Got a mini leg workout lol

Meadow powered grass site

Liked Campsite was well maintained. Tent pitch with electricity was flat. Toilets and showers were clean, washing up facilities, and launderette if required. Small shop selling all the essentials. Nice woodland walk leading from the Campsite. When we arrived the Campsite was super busy as it was the Bank Holiday weekend, however the rest of the week was relatively quiet. We would certainly return
