What customers say

Lovely, well-kept site near Loch Lomond. Guests rave about the spotless, modern facilities, great staff, and roomy, flat pitches. Perfect for exploring, but a few noted few on-site extras and patchy Wi-Fi.

Conic View powered concrete and grass motorhome site

Liked Wide and busy campsite with lots of facilities and quiet pitch. Friendly reception desk and nothing too much trouble. Showers and facilities clean and well kept.

Disliked Nothing - it was a family site so expect kids running around. However we were in a pitch that had only 2 kids in the corner so was quiet.

Power optional grass tent site

Liked Location, clean toilet and shower facilities. Short walk down to the side of loch and nature reserve

Disliked Litter on tent field when we arrived, including broken glass and battery, discarded tent pegs and camping chair in the grass on edge of camping field. We didn't witness anyone checking the site for litter, or its removal during out stay. Toilet and shower facilities were clean with soap, handwash and toilet rolls restocked, however the external areas were unclean and the floor of the dishwashing area was filthy - clearly hadn't been swept in a while. The light in the dishwashing area (indoor) was on a sensor and went off every few seconds - very frustrating when washing up. We saw the owner/s smoking directly outside the door to the Reception on multiple occasions - not a great welcome. The site could do with more glass recycling facilities - lots of glass bottles on the floor next to the small bin for the duration of our stay. There was also a horrible smell (a previous review had mentioned this) close to our tent, and quite a lot of noise at night (including yapping dogs) despite it having a no noise after 10pm policy. Although the owner did do her best to address the noise problem during our stay, we left one night early due to the disrupted sleep.

Local attractions

This is a central base indeed… set your sights on historic Stirling (40 minutes’ drive), a city with historic credentials like a castle, The National Wallace Monument and The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre (45 minutes). The latter is based on a medieval battle location, which some of you might recognise from the film Braveheart. Of course, Glasgow (50 minutes) has more historic attractions, especially museums and impressive architecture. There are shops and theatres for those seeking a simpler kind of entertainment. Those who haven’t already tasted enough whisky in the city bars can pay a visit to the Glengoyne Distillery (20 minutes), which runs tours and tastings (including of their tasty single malt whisky). Perhaps you’re an animal fan too. There are 300-plus creatures at the Blair Drummond Safari Park (35 minutes), including giraffes and lions, and hands-on activities with the farm animals at Briarlands Farm (35 minutes).
