What customers say
Great views, handy beach access. Brian's a legend! Basic but tidy facilities, on-site shop/food van handy. A few peeps found toilets few, showers a bit cool. Signage could be clearer on arrival.

Liked great view, easy to find, everyone was chilled and quiet enough, bathrooms clean and good facilities with toilet paper. Handy to be near the chipper and shop in the neighbouring holiday park.
Disliked could do with more toilets (that said there was never much of a wait), we couldn't find the bins (although we didn't look too hard as we only stayed one night) so we just took our rubbish with us, maybe a signpost around the Shepard's Hut might help

Well maintained campsite. Friendly staff & level pitch sites!
Unpowered grass and gravel tent or trailer tent site
Liked The toilets were very clean & well stocked with toilet roll! The wee shepherd's hut was great for washing up dishes etc! The views of the beach were lovely! The owner was really nice & stopped by each day to say hello each day! Kids loved the big field to run around in. We will definitely be back.
Disliked Maybe a few more showers would be good.

Liked View was amazing, pitches were flat, nice and quiet at night, really close to the beach and the little shop just across the road.
The 2 toilets were clean.
Disliked Shower was hard to get regulated to a good temperature

Liked The view is so beautiful, you can see sunrise and sunset from the site
Disliked The shower facilities are very poor. You can either choose boiling hot water or freezing cold water — there's no in-between. There is only one portable shower cabin and just two toilets on-site. While the toilets are clean, the site definitely needs more of them.

Liked The views were amazing ! Facilities are basic but clean and done their job well. Onsite shop that had most of what you would need for a comfortable stay and not overpriced either. A lovely addition was an onsite chip van and coffee/tea/hot chocolate hut. Beach is a short walk from the camp site, and other activities to do near by. We went a visit to Silent valley, it’s beautiful and only a short drive from camp. We haven’t been camping for very long, but this is one site that we would certainly return for a visit.
Disliked Only SMALL issue was that there was no WiFi from where our tent was.

Cheap, cheerful and amazing views!

Liked Amazing views and sunsets. Can drive up right beside your tent. Only 2 toilets but they are not your average portaloo and well maintained. Close to a beach, small shop, chippy van. Location is fab. Close to everything but peaceful. We brought the bikes and there are nice cycle routes. Close to the ferry for a day trip to Carlingford.
Disliked Only 2 toilets- had to wait on a few occasions as the campsite was busy. Small kitchen van could do with more amenities. Bit confusing upon entry as there was no one to tell us where to go- owner did come over later to say hello.

Clean toilets
Disliked Payable shower that does not work, just a dribble of cold water.
Lights for toilets did not work at 6am. I think they had run out of charge.
Tent next to us got very drunk and passed out about 7pm out the front of their tent then woke up and were talking like it was the middle of the day and running their car at 4am (very unfortunate)

From the manager: Hello Gillian
Any campers that were stepping outside there boundaries were spoken to by myself. Going forward, In the text I sent to campers I'll remind them of the camp site rules
(Which is on the side of the shepherds hut)
Planning is limited so I'm only allowed to open 30 days in a year. It's not much considering the holiday season is 190 days a year. This in turns leaves little revenue left to add facilities for kids etc. The shower was down in power as I had a water pipe broke else where in the field leaving pressure down throughout the campsite. I hope when I submit a planning application to open all year it's successful.
Kind Regards Folks on the hill campsite
