What customers say
Adults-only site loved for spacious, peaceful pitches and great value. Friendly staff, fab on-site pub (Sunday carvery a winner!). Basic but clean facilities. Ideal for Exmoor exploration. Many keen to return.

Amazing
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Super well priced. We were able to choose our pitch. Toilets and showers superbly clean.
Food in the pub seemed pricey at first but it was so nice, and the interior of the building is furnished to a very high standard.
Couldn't wish for a better stay. Recommend the Full English breakfast.
We aren't too far (Exeter) but will be staying again on the odd weekend.
And also, it's situated in a beautiful area to visit.
Disliked Nothing to dislike!

Good value for money and a decent basic place for a nights stopover.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked A cheap win for the night. Really basic, with toilets, Shower and washing up facilities. The pub is lovely and the food looked and smelt delicious (we didn’t order food as we had our own prepped). If you’re looking for a cheap stop over then this place is ideal. The staff seemed lovely and helpful.
Disliked Shower facilities were really basic (one looked like it was a cubicle that had been taken out of a caravan!).
Toilet and Shower facilities are unisex but this is made apparent before we booked so if this is a problem then don’t book.

OK site let down by not being able to eat at the pub
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Site itself was nice and loo blocks clean. Only one washing up sink though.
Disliked We picked this site due to it being a pub campsite and tried to book a pub table in advance but were told we could just rock up and would definitely be able to eat.
When we arrived on the Saturday evening at 6.15, we were told they were no longer taking bookings because it was so busy, being a Bank Holiday weekend. They told others there was a 2-2.5hr wait. Then, after a bit, we were told we could just order cold starters and desserts which is what we opted to do. I am a diabetic and this general lack of mains did not make my life very easy but I have to eat and inject.
As an aside, the information on Pitchup is misleading because in some places it says barbecues are allowed, in others they're not. They're not - which was frustrating as we actually had back-up BBQ food on board but couldn't cook it as an alternative!
All they need to do is a) update Pitchup. b) either introduce a pub bookings system, or train staff to manage expectations around actually getting food on the phone, if they insist on not having such a system.
A disappointing stay (and response from the site about our complaint). Be warned... they will not necessarily feed you properly if they're busy (even if it is early) and you may therefore miss out on the 'pub camping' experience.

Liked Really loved our stay here, clean and simple lovely views from the front of the Inn. Clean and peaceful and the site manager was so lovely giving us tips for the best pitch to go for a bit of shade during the hottest days of this year for our dog. Pitches were not level but as long as you have the right equipment easy sorted.
We had unlimited breakfast and the carvery from the pub and a number of evening drinks and found it all tasty with good service

Liked Staff were friendly, both in the pub and the guy that showed us to our pitch and explained the set up.
Pitches were nice and flat and the site wasn’t too big and was lovely and quiet.
The showers were nice and hot, you just had to keep pressing the button before the water stopped.
The pub was a bonus, especially when the weather really got too hot, it was lovely and cool inside. The Sunday carvery looked lovely but we had already sorted our dinner.
Disliked Could have done with more than one washing up point.

Great value and really nice site with a really good pub attached.
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Lovely site. Was shown the field and asked where I'd prefer to be. Big enough so that I could get a quiet area. Good facilities. Pub is really nice and has nice food too.
Price is about what camping should be. Well done Raleghs Cross.
