Deer in a wildlife haven, ancient oaks in a wide green field, and manor house views on a secluded Dorset site… be tremendously sensible and book Trigon Farm as soon as poss. Set in a rural field near Wareham with views of Trigon Manor house and arable fields to the left and beyond, this is a fab site for families: hidden away from main roads and traffic, with stacks of space for running around and big scope for mini nature hunters to roam around and spot deer, buzzards and woodpeckers. There are cows to spy too, as Trigon is on a beef cattle farm with the farming part of the site across the estate; the curious can watch the Trigon cows laze about in the adjoining fields and see the workings of everyday farming all around. Off site, it's a few miles to Wareham from here (Monkey World is a must), and less than half an hour's drive to spectacular Dorset beaches at Studland and Swanage. And by evening? As befits a site such as this, firepits and barbecues are allowed – so sort your supplies and sit back to snuggle up under the stars. Your closest pitstops for stocking up are the convenience shop and mini market at the Carey Road entrance to Trigon two miles down the lane; much more can be sorted in Wareham's shops and supermarkets or at its Saturday market. Amenities include four huts with flushing toilets, four shower huts with free hot water, a washing-up area, drinking water taps, and rubbish and recycling bins. The farm has a phone signal as well as 3G and 4G.

Spacious, peaceful spot with friendly owners & spotless facilities. Great space between pitches, fire pits for hire & a lovely setting. Good for exploring, but hot water can be iffy & no device charging.

Liked Everything. Firstly, Jayne (owner?) such a lovely, warm woman. I booked this site the night before we were leaving. with my post partum addled brain, I hadn't noticed it was a tent only site. I text Jayne and she was gracious enough to let us stay in our T25 VW campervan.
This was our first time sleeping in the van with our baby!
The site itself, very clean, spacious, welcoming.

•I'm a huge architecture nerd and spent the whole time admiring the estate house. Beautiful!
• toilets & showers (smelt so clean!)
• the real flowers dotted around, really shows genuine care and attention to detail
• unlimited pitch size (please use common sense and give people space)

Disliked • Phone reception is poor but this is actually also a good thing.
• I wish it wasn't a tent only site as we'd love to come back
• having to leave!

Liked Best campsite, the owners Rob and Jayne are warm and friendly, they ensure all the campers are fine. Camp site is big space with lovely views, and they take limited bookings so there is always a good amount of space. It is far from road so extremely peaceful and lots of birds and deer to spot. Toilet and washing facilities are really nicely presented, hot showers.

Disliked Absolutely nothing.

Star bell tent

Liked Great location, lots of space and the wash facilities were spot on. Owners really friendly and helpful. Would love to go again. We stayed in the glamping tent and it’s was very comfortable and spacious.

Liked We love our annual week at Trigon Farm with our daughter and grandchildren, the setting is beautiful, the facilities are immaculate and the owners Jayne and Rob are amazing hosts. There is so much to do in the local area, lovely beaches, castles, walks in the local woods and attractions such as Monkey World and the Tank Museum. The children are able to explore safely on the campsite and enjoy making friends and playing together. If you want to get away from it all there is nowhere more perfect.

If using a satnav, please set it to Carey Road BH20 4AX then follow that road up past the Spa Supermarket and keep on it until it narrows into a tarmac lane with the national speed limit sign. As well as its shops – and pubs – Wareham, three miles away, has a pretty quay for picnic spots, a cinema and a public swimming pool, and is the starting point for boat trips to spectacular Poole Harbour. Wareham golf club is less than 10 minutes' drive from the farm. Hikers should head to the nearby Purbeck Hills or the Dorset Downs (part of the southern England Chalk Group that also includes Salisbury Plain and the South Downs). Top spots for adventuring and exploring days include the famed Old Harry Rocks, Lulworth Cove and Lulworth Castle – and if your junior adventurers are of the Enid Blyton variety, they'll like a look at Corfe Castle too, said to be the inspiration for Kirrin Castle in the Famous Five books. More walking, as well as cycling, can be sorted at the Sika Trail, two miles away.
