What customers say
A friendly, tidy site with good-sized, flat spots. Reviewers loved the helpful owners, clean amenities, and handy honesty shop. The Saturday pizza night and swings were big hits. Despite some road noise, it's highly recommended for its location and welcoming vibe.

Disliked Entrance is very tight , not good for paintwork, ours is a 6m motorhome. Only grass and so with heavy rain it is not suitable at all.
Was offered a different plot over the phone as noone there, no reception, , literally a field but again not suitable under weather conditions and we would have got stuck. Was told over the phone they would pull us off if stuck . We decided to leave and parked in clovely main car park for free.

From the manager: Hi Lisa. Im sorry to read your review quite upsetting that you have written what you have. We'd had awful weather that week so had cancelled everyone due to the soft ground. We offered everyone a refund but most people opted to move there booking to another date. As we don't have any hard standing pitches it will look like a field when empty. You opted to still visit us even when we said it was probably not a good idea and yes we did offer to pull you out if you'd had gotten stuck. We did tell you about another campsite down the road with hardstanding so we did try our best.
As above!

Bell tent
Liked Absolutely amazing holiday. 9 nights. No problems. Hosts are delightful. The tent we hired was clean, well maintained, and very spacious with everything needed to ease you through your camping experience. The site very well looked after, with good facilities. The open shop with the honesty box is also a very useful touch. We didn't get to try the pizza night ( hand made and cooked in a traditional stone oven) put on by the hosts, but returned in the evening to notice it was a big sucess with the other guests that did. Highly recommend a stay. Big thanks to the hosts.

Liked Loved the location of Roey's Retreat, an easy drive down to lovely Clovelly Harbour. Not far from Bude either so an easy trip there for the beach. Lots of space for each pitch and the glamping tent is amazing. My friend stayed in here and there was plenty of room for the 8 of us travelling together to sit on their veranda and light the chimnea.
The toilets were nice and clean, as were the showers which were hot. You put in a pound coin which gives you 5 minutes which was plenty. Hooks on the doors were handy and also a pull down seat.
There were swings for the kids and still plenty of room for them to run around.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to have any of Nick's pizza which was cooked on Saturday night - apparently I missed a treat.
Karen and Nick were on hand should we have needed them, very friendly and approachable.

Bell tent
Liked Fantastic site. Karen & Nick very hardworking to make sure your stay is the best.
Attention to detail is clear for a lovely stay. The Bell tent was home from home, again with homely detail, (Rugs, pillows, fridge, lighting, and the boat kitchen area all added up to a very comfortable stay).
