Summer Valley Touring Park is a peaceful and private park, in a cocoon of trees two miles to the north of Truro, and in a south-facing sheltered valley in peaceful Cornish countryside and a wildlife haven. It's centrally located within Cornwall: the north coast and beaches are 10 minutes' drive away and the south coast within 20. The south-facing pitches have lush views over meadows and woodland, and there’s a smart service area, an adventure playground, a food shop and a heated facilities block with guest lounge and free wifi The site is small (three acres) and family-owned, so holidaymakers can expect good service, a warm welcome and a relaxed environment. There’s a pub half a mile away in the village of Shortlanesend, or guests can make their way the two miles into Truro for lots more shops, restaurants and services. Grab your bucket and spade and hit the miles of silky sand at Perranporth, six miles away.

  • Reception is unmanned after 6 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.

Peaceful, well-kept site with ample space and spotless facilities. Owners were friendly and helpful. Great base for Cornwall, but dog walk field was a bit wild and the access road's narrow. Still, most would return!

Lily Hobbit House cabin

Liked It had everything I was looking for. The pod was spacious, and there was plenty of outdoor space to sit and relax. The washing facilities were outstanding.
I only regret not booking a longer stay, but I will definitely be coming back!

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked Location was great, great base close to the A30 and easily shootable to Newquay, Perranporth, st Ives and Truro. Also close to Healey’s cyder farm which is a great choice for an afternoon.
The site itself was peaceful.
Felt immediately welcomed into the micro community - wardens J&D who were there couldn’t have been better!
Showers hot - entire block although slightly dated always very clean and had everything you need. (I’m usually very fussy and cautious over booking if I can’t see what toilets/showers are like - had no concerns!)

Liked Everything about it. Toilets were clean, warm and stocked with loo roll. Easy to check in/ check out. We will be staying there again.

Disliked There is nothing to dislike about the campsite itself. The drive down is a bit slim but we managed fine in a Ford transit!

Liked This is a lovely site and well run. The facilities are excellent, clean tidy and well lit at night. We were welcomed by Jim and Debs who were so very helpful. We had 5 lovely days there and hope to return.

Disliked Dog walk field was very overgrown and not suitable for our small dog.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked Really nice, quiet site. Stunning views and feels like being in an orchard. Great facilities, Electric hook up, washing machine and dryers plus toilets and showers. Motorhome waste and water point.

If you are coming from the east along the A30 towards Redruth, ignore all signs to Truro and Shortlanesend. You will pass a large car (Nissan) showroom on the right, then take the next left turn, signposted Truro 4 miles. After 1 mile at Allet bear left towards Truro. The site is approximately 0.5 miles on the right-hand side of the road. The site is clearly signposted. If travelling from Truro, take the B3284 signposted Perranporth, the site is 2.5 miles out of Truro just through Shortlanesend on the left-hand side.

It’s less than half an hour to either Springfield Farm Park and Pony Centre – which, on top of all the equine excitement, has a huge indoor play barn and a variety of outdoor fun – or the penguins, parrots and otter antics at Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall. For more relaxed entertainment, head to the heavenly biomes of the Eden Project or take a wander around the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Drama queens shouldn’t miss the opportunity to take in an open-air performance in the jaw-dropping setting of the Minack Theatre. The lovely St Ives is another great place for a day out, with oodles of art at Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden as well as some great beaches, coast walks and boat trips.
