Chitty Chitty Glamping: 2 person log burning hot tub overlooking the beautiful countryside of Chislet.

General

  • Luxury glamping site with lovely views over Kent countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from the coast; 20 minutes from Canterbury
  • Bell tents with kingsize bed, woodburner and firepit provided

Off to Kent for a bit of countryside, a bit of coast time and a bit of city wandering… and a comfy place to stay in among it all? Book a berth in one of the bell tents at Chitty Chitty Glamping, in the village of Chislet and well located for outings all around this fab part of the country.

You can expect a warm welcome at this friendly site – and a generous serving of luxury while you’re here too. Each of the five-metre tents has been prettily furnished, with a proper kingsize bed and a woodburning stove to make sure you’re comfy and cosy during your stay. A fully-equipped separate kitchenette is provided too, with a single gas hob, a fridge and all the pots, pans, crockery and utensils you need to create your dinner.

Or maybe you’d like to do dinner out in the fresh air? If so, settle on the private patio and stoke up the barbecue/firepit while gazing out over the stunning scenery of the surrounding area. If that gets you in the mood to see a bit more of the local area, have a chat with your hosts for tips on the best places to get out for walks and bike rides (and the best pubs to refresh at along the way…)

Mix your countryside time up with jaunts to the coast (about 10 minutes’ drive away) and outings to the historic city of Canterbury (20 minutes) – or fully embrace your rural setting by settling down on site to see if you can spot some of the resident barn owls, marsh harriers kingfishers, woodpeckers, swans, hedgehogs…

This little corner of the UK is quite magical. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty it really is somewhere you can go and be in your own little world. Becky and Nathan are lovely hosts, very friendly, helpful and provide a relaxed atmosphere, set on their family run farm.
We booked the Orchid tent, with wood burning hot tub outside. They had lit it beforehand so it was ready for us when we arrived, we poured our drinks and relaxed in the tub whilst checking out the wonderful landscape over a couple of cocktails.
The tent itself was so cosy, a lovely big bed, plenty of pillows and cushions (I’m a cushion girl 😍). An ample sofa, extra blanket and a wood burner all make for a very comfortable stay.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate , milk sugar etc are all provided, and a lovely soap (got to love the little extras 😍). A really cute kitchenette with stove, kettle, fridge. Separate outdoor washing up area. A very clean, comfortable shower and toilet unit just a few footsteps from the lovely tipi tents.
We forgot our speaker, Nathan overheard and popped one round to us later, which was a nice touch.
There is a pub about a fifteen minute walk away if you fancy a spot of lunch or dinner on foot. Herne Bay is a short drive if you want the beach and restaurants.
Thanks Becky and Nathan for a lovely stay. We’ll be back!
