  • Adults-only Kent countryside site with a friendly atmosphere
  • Dog-friendly site with fenced-off exercise area
  • Immaculately maintained heated amenities block
'Top of the range', 'luxurious' and 'immaculate' are a few of the accolades heaped upon the amenities at adults-only Still Acres Touring and Camping Park by grateful guests: if an essential part of your hol is sparkling and modern essentials, you'll be well set up here. But there's more. Partly because the owners of this warm and friendly family-run site in the midst of Kent know their stuff (including having a fully certified caravan repair and service technician on site to help out with problems) and partly because of the site's setting: Still Acres is just outside Wealden village, with easy access to Kent's beaches, castles and many historic houses – if you're happy to go a bit further you could even venture to la belle France (Dover is a little over an hour's drive away). The site is on 28 acres of scenic and flat grassland with two acres set aside for guests; dogs are most welcome too and have a two-acre fenced off area for off-lead frolics (with water to keep them cool and benches for their owners to have a rest on). You're very welcome to take walks (with or without a dog) around the rest of the site as well (dogs must be kept on leads and mess picked up). And as for the accoladed amenities? The shower block on site is centrally heated, with disabled toilets and powerful showers and hand dryers – and all is immaculately maintained by the Still Acres team.

Liked We had a fantastic stay at Still Acres Caravan Park. The whole site is exceptionally well maintained, with a real sense of pride taken in its upkeep. The toilet and shower facilities were impeccably clean throughout our stay, and the built-in radio system was a lovely unexpected touch that made using the facilities a little more enjoyable.

The pitches were a good size, level, and well laid out, which made setting up quick and easy. We also found the 4G/5G mobile signal to be very good, which was a bonus.

As dog owners, we were particularly impressed with the off-lead dog walking area. It was spacious, clean, and well cared for. There were plenty of dog waste bins located around the site, making it easy for everyone to help keep the grounds tidy.

The only slight downside for us was the nearby clay shooting range. The noise initially unsettled our nervous dog, but to be fair, he soon got used to it and it didn't impact our stay as much as we first feared.

One tip for future visitors: don't forget to pack mosquito repellent, especially if you're prone to bites, as the mosquitoes can be quite persistent!

Overall, this is an excellent, well-run site with great facilities, generous pitches, and superb cleanliness. We'd happily return and would highly recommend it, particularly for anyone travelling with dogs.

Liked Very dog friendly with 2 acre fully enclosed dog paddock - perfect for off lead zoomies in the morning and evening, and several poo bins dotted around the site. Very clean and modern toilet and shower facilities. Adults only and all the other campers were very quiet which is what I had hoped for.

Local attractions

Still Acres Touring and Camping Park is most niftily located in a central position to some of the most popular Kent attractions, gardens and beaches, so pack a picnic and set off for the day to see what you can see. Castle fans (everyone should be a castle fan) have a few famed attractions in the area to pick from: the Still Acres team reckons that Leeds Castle, with 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens, daily activities and free flying falconry displays, is one of the best days out in Kent. You could/should also get along to Chiddingstone Castle, set in 35 acres of grounds including a lake, rose garden and woodland, and with the collections of Denys Eyre Bower who owned and lived at Chiddingstone between 1956 and 1977. Dover Castle, set above the famed white cliffs, and Tonbridge Castle, dating back to the eleventh century, are also popular castley Kent picks. More old buildings? See also Georgian Belmont House and Gardens in Throwley, near Faversham, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church.
