Unpowered grass tent site
Liked The grass was flat and easy to pitch, had no issue finding a space. Although we didn't use it, the small hut with the pizza in the evening and a breakfast provision in the morning was a nice touch. Convenient to get to on the 69 bus route, which was useful to the Itchen navigation route.
Disliked Other people in the campsite were holding a party (which is fine!) but the adults in the party continued playing music quite late into the night - the nature of self check-in and generally low oversight meant we weren't sure if this was permitted and if it wasn't, who we could speak with. The washing up area tap and drainage didn't actually work, so it was a bit awkward to use, and the toilets were in poor condition - the composting toilet was fine (but ran out of toilet paper in the morning and again, was unclear who to speak with), but the other toilet quickly filled up and became unusable, and the two portaloos had an awful smell and I believe one became unusable by the morning.

Peaceful woodland campsite, lovely host, unique back-to-nature stay.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked We recently stayed at Morelands Copse Country Camping and had a really great time. When we arrived, the main road in was closed, which wasn’t the fault of the site, so it took a bit longer to get there than planned. We also got a bit lost along the way because it was really dark and Google Maps wasn’t much help, but with the help of another person staying on site, we finally found our way there.
The site itself is tucked away in Hampshire woodland, which makes it super peaceful and a great place to switch off. The wooded areas and open grass fields are lovely, and the animals around the site, like chickens, rabbits, pigs and goats, make it feel really homely.
The lady looking after the site on the weekend was amazing. She was so friendly and easy to talk to, and you could tell she really cares about the place. It made us feel really welcome and just added to the whole experience.
The campsite is pretty basic, with no electricity and composting or portaloo toilets, and honestly we really loved this it’s exactly the kind of camping we enjoy. It felt simple, cosy and true to what I like about getting away from it all. It was also my first time using a compost toilet, which was a very interesting experience and made the stay feel even more unique.
The honesty shop had everything we needed, like firewood and bug spray, and the shared cooking areas were really practical and easy to use.
It’s also great for families and people with pets. Kids can safely run around the field or explore the woodland paths, and the animals make it fun for everyone. Watching other families enjoy themselves added to the nice, relaxed vibe.
There is lots of activities you can do if you speak to the site owner which we will definitely do next time we book.
All in all, we had a really positive stay. The woodland setting is peaceful, the host is lovely, and the site has everything you need for a proper, back-to-basics camping trip. We will definitely be going back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a chill, off-grid weekend.
Disliked We did overhear a large group of people complaining about minor things, which we honestly didn’t see as problems. Water was always available, the toilets were fine and everything was clean to the best of the lovely lady on site taking care of things. It was a bit disappointing to hear, especially because the site and the host clearly put a lot of effort in.
There was also a very large group of people who stayed on site who were extremely loud and was up until 3am, which made things hard to enjoy the lovely site.
Maybe as a suggestion that there could be a field for people who want to enjoy peace and quiet and the lovely site and another field for the louder larger groups so all can enjoy but this is just a suggestion :)
Again these dislikes are not to the site as the site was everything we wanted and we will be booking again.

Liked Lovrky woodland setting
Kids in our group got some free pizzas on one of the nights
Disliked Facilities- toilets/shower/no sink to wash teeth.
We didn't think that the price (£240 for 2 nights) was good value for money. Nowhere to clean teeth properly, the one shower on the site turned on and off intermittently (apparantly people turned off the water valve) and didn't enjoy using porter loos. Lady running it seemed a bit annoyed (we asked her to clean the loos in the morning as they were overflowing) so think she was cross about that as was short staffed. Don't normally leave bad reviews but thought the facilities really weren't uo to scratch here.

Lovely campsite.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked We were spoiled with the weather, lots of space for games, cute little woodland walk with lovely covered kitchen that we used for crafts. Friendly chickens, walking distance to a local pub and pizza served on site on Saturday. Relaxed approach on a lovely campsite.
Disliked Would love more compost loos & showers and would love to see portaloos replaced by Compost loos and maybe expand the washing station. we had a great time with all existing provisions.

Liked Gorgeous local area. Pretty woodland on site.
Nice enough communal 'kitchen'
Games for kids
Animals hanging around
Nice pub nearby
Pizza nights were good and the people making it were lovely.
Compost loo was good and well maintained. Need a bit of a sturdier log to get up there!
Relaxed place
Disliked A few things I have taken up with owner. Otherwise lovely and would recommend to a friend if these small things remedied.

Peaceful city break, plenty to explore, well looked after site
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked 20/10 rating if it was possible. The listing does not do the site justice - 20 mins from our home we needed a short getaway to enjoy the Perseids meteor shower.
When we arrived the pitch was well laid out and well signposted. We set up and explored and to our delight found the "secret garden" area past the chicken coop and rabbit hutch... A lovely fairyland area that just kept going, we assume they hold activities there - a beautiful woodland kitchen area, many firepits... Eggs to buy, a little trust box shop, composting loos and some showers (a bucket shower and a more traditional 🚿 shower).
Portaloos by the main pitch area were very clean. There was a convenient washing up area, as well as some outdoor toys for kids. Plenty of tables and chairs to sit, relaxed and comfortable space, absolutely one of the best places I've camped on pitchup. We will definitely be going back, especially to try the activities as well.
As for the meteor shower, we knew we were too close to the city to have a really dark sky - we saw a few still, but couldn't go too far out as we had work the next day. For the distance from Southampton and Eastleigh it still felt like a nice break away from the real world!
There was also a lovely pub a walking distance away that sits beside a lake. Really felt like we were totally out of the city in a peaceful place.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked We enjoyed the quirkiness of the site and it was ideal for small children as they had the chickens and bunnies to attract them. It was reasonably priced considering it was school holidays. The staff were friendly enough and bought us wood when we requested it. Close to a lovely pub on a lake.
Disliked The chemical toilets were awful and by the end of our 2 day stay were stinking horribly. The only compost toilet was slightly better but I feel for an off grid campsite there should have been more. 2 or 3 at least. There was only one shower as well for more than 50 people and the site wasn’t even full.
Finally there is no shade on the main site and it was a hot weekend so I would recommend bringing a shade umbrella or gazebo as it gets quite hot in the tents.

From the manager: Hi,
We do apologise about our toilets this weekend unfortunately our cleaning company did not show due to issues otherwise everything would have been perfectly fine.
Our site is low key and we were at full capacity so it was not ideal timing but these things happen.
Kind regards
Dan

Liked Location and grounds.
Disliked A bit too rustic for our liking. Didn’t feel very private with George’s Hit bring right next to communal kitchen and cut through for toilets etc.
