What customers say
Gill Head Farm shines with its stunning views & helpful staff. Clean pods, cabins & facilities are a plus. Spacious pitches & a great communal room. Animals are a hit! Some A66 noise, but peaceful overall. Management handles issues promptly.

I’d definitely come back which says it all really. Fantastic value
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Great facilities and whilst not classed as an accessible campsite there is a wider toilet I could get my wheelchair in near reception and apart from a step into the common room I required no help to get around. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a great location. Would definitely book again.
Disliked Be aware that the tent area gets hit by high winds which were no problem for my four season tent but with wet ground others struggled. Definitely invest in some better pegs built for wet ground at least if you come in winter.

Liked Loved the whole site, everything was thought about. Toilets and showers were clean.
Disliked The only let down, pitch wasn't completely flat and the weather!!! April camping was a gamble.

Overall, such a lovely family friendly campsite with 100% recommend.

Liked Large pitch close to the playground great communal area as there was a large fridge and freezer provided along with electric kettles and toasters makes a real difference to your stay sometimes. It isn’t something that I used personally, but I know it is useful to other people.
There was also sanitary projects in the ladies in case which is amazingly kind.
Kids absolutely love the free range chickens, turkeys and Peacocks.
Plus beautiful views of mountains.
Disliked It’s not the largest of campsite and this is fine if anything I like this however there is only three toilets and three showers I can imagine in the height of summer that this can be busy and perhaps queueing may occur.

From the manager: Hi
Thanks for the feedback. Regarding showers/toilets we have three individual blocks of toilets ( two of which contain shower cubicles) plus a mobile toilet block which is in use at high season. As far as we are aware we have never had an issue with individual toilet units (totalling 17 on-site) or shower units (totalling 9) not being available.
Many thanks,
Gill Head

Friendly staff, spacious pitches , and cleaning facilities!! ☺️
Power optional grass tent site
Liked First time camping as a couple , and From driving up to the camp site the view are amazing and you get to be on a working farm with loads of sheep and cows (my favourite animal) , lovely little shop on the site with essentials ,facilities they go above and beyond, dryers and washing machine, and even they offer hair dryer , feminine products , shower gel, and a toaster etc in the communal area to, owners are lovely gave us best tip for the place to put up our tent , highly recommend this place , will definitely be booking next year in the summer
Disliked Only thing I would say is if you haven’t stayed there before it’s very open the campsite so if your going April or anything earlier , the wind picks up, so if you are wanting something more pieced up I would go with the glamping pods , but nothing against the actual place itself . WiFi is abit hit and miss but your not going there to be glued to your phone
