What customers say
Friendly staff, great pub grub & good value are big hits. Pitches often spacious. Toilet/shower facilities are a recurring concern; dated & could be cleaner. Railway noise is noted but usually manageable. Some found it a bit cramped/overcrowded at peak times.

Liked We have been to this site a few times now, the pitches are huge, and well levelled. Everyone is helpful and friendly.
Disliked Not really the sites fault, but we were near the camping field, where 3 families arrived with two tents on the Monday, we were pleased to hear they were staying two nights, as the screaming from one side of the site across to the facilities was horrific, kids swearing, letting there balls hit parked cars, fires going and shouting ruined this sites quiet relaxing vibe

Liked Nice location and close to main road A1 which means you can visit loads down the coast easily. Food was excellent in in the pub would definitely recomend eating there.
Disliked Toilets in need of an update. Shame others campers were not in control of there children so were out shouting till past 11 at night not owners of the site fault.

Not spacious at all :(
Powered grass tent site
Liked Didn’t stay long enough to see if there was anything positive about the area
Disliked Arrived and the spacious area that is advertised was no where to be seen.
There were already 5 tents on the tiny patch of grass all less than half a metre apart. No space at all, definitely no room to park your car next to it. It was that tight we were told to wait for the previous people to pitch up before we could make a start on our tent.
If there had have been a fire none of the families would have stood a chance due to how close the tents were.
Dogs are welcome however when you get there you aren’t allowed to walk them on the site.
Grass area was right on the road side too.
Manager rude and intimidating when approached to see if there was another area we could pitch up with a bit more space. Kept asking us what our problem was over and over again.
Upon reading other reviews I can see other people have had the same thoughts and issues. Wish I had read them before booking. We left the site after being left feeling uncomfortable after speaking to manager. Our children begged us not to stay after the whole interaction left them also feeling uncomfortable.
I wish I had took photos of all the tents crammed together but we were so uncomfortable we just wanted to get our family off the site and away from the situation.
£100 wasted as refund was refused.

We will definitely be back for the food alone .

Liked Brilliant site in a brilliant location, the onsite pub is very reasonable with lovely food, (I recommend trying the stuffed chicken). All the staff were very friendly. The pitch was a good size with water taps on every pitch .
Disliked The only thing that let's this site down is the showers/toilets. They could do with a refurb. Also, Not a big issue for us, but be aware that the site is next to the main east coast train line so be prepared for some noise from the inter city trains going past about every 30 minutes or so .

A good site, I'd stay there again.

Liked Great food, lovely staff, nice pub, site well kept, electric and water on our grass pitch. Plenty of hot water in showers.
Disliked No nearby shops, you really need your own transport to get to the nearby castle and town of Amble..toilet/ shower block could do with a revamp, starting to look a bit tired but met our needs. .
