A green corner of East Yorkshire is the peaceful setting for adults-only Hill House Certificated Location. The site welcomes members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club to its well-maintained grounds a 10-minute drive from the seaside town of Hornsea. If 10 minutes sounds like far too long and you just have to get to the beach ASAP – good news: the nearest beach (Mappleton) is actually only five minutes’ drive away. And – better yet: your dog is allowed to keep you company there as you sift through the sand looking for fossils. However, please note that Mappleton’s proximity to Cowden Beach, a former RAF weapons range, means that you might occasionally stumble upon the odd unexploded ordnance. Steer well clear of any metal objects and keep your dog on a leash. The surrounding area is also rather flat, which lends itself to exploring on two wheels. Head to Hornsea Mere (10 minutes or a half-hour bike ride), where you can indulge in a spot of fishing, take a boat trip or just marvel at the myriad birds (ducks and gulls among them) that make this freshwater lake their home. Back at the site after a day out, you can get ready for an evening at the pub (the nearest one is in Withernwick, a five-minute drive away, or a 20-minute walk). Overlooking a paddock, the hardstanding pitches at Hill House are fully serviced; in addition, the site comes with a modern toilet and shower block, plus freshwater and Elsan points.

We had a fantastic stay at Hill House and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful adults-only caravan site.

The site is beautifully kept, very clean and tidy, and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to switch off and enjoy some peace and quiet. The pitches are well maintained and there is plenty of space, making the whole site feel calm and private.

The owners were very welcoming and friendly, and you can tell they take real pride in keeping the site to such a high standard.

A lovely adults-only site near Hull and somewhere we would definitely return to. Highly recommended!

Liked Perfect little gem, first site I’ve never had to use the ramps to level up. Seems a same to leave a review to let others know how good the site is. Fully serviced pitch, showers, toilets, washing sink and washing machine. WiFi was a special extra. Up there as one of the best sites we have been on in the last 4 years motor-homing. Perfect in every way

Quiet site
Toilet and showers were in good condition and kept clean throughout our stay.
We extended our stay, so this gives an indication of our satisfaction.

Disliked WiFi not very good and phone signal poor ( not the Sites fault! Maybe we were on the wrong network?)

Liked The owners were amazing amd very welcoming making sure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. Always on hand to offer advice and a friendly chat. The local pub was a lovely easy walk away on a well maintained path. The showers and toilet were always kept clean with no issues throughout our week long stay. Definitely a site we will use again. Loved it.

Near the beach, the Trans Pennine Trail Gateway marks the start (or the arrival point) of the long-distance path linking the North and Irish seas, while Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo is home to bugs, reptiles and colourful birds.
