Manor Park Holiday Village: A view of the touring area

General

  • Less than 10 minutes' walk from the Norfolk coast at Hunstanton
  • Family park with kids' club, activities and evening entertainment
  • Two heated pools on site with terrace and loungers

Off to the Norfolk coast? Looking for a park in a sweet spot for the beach but with stacks to do on site for all the family? Settle down for a break at Manor Park Holiday Village, half a mile from the sands and red sandstone cliffs of Hunstanton.

This place will keep the family busy all the day long with a vast range of entertainment for Norfolk holidaymakers of all bents and in all weather… The kids have a club run by the Starland Krew and a tiddlers' club for the under-fives, covering heady highlights like a wizards' academy, discos, spy school, pirate quest, bake-offs, dancing, crafts and sand art – and a play park for afterwards just in case they're not quite tuckered out enough.

Grownups, meanwhile, have a sports and leisure programme to tackle which could see them on the pools' aqua jets, walking on water in giant bubbles or whirling through the water during adults-only swim times. To take it easier, go along to one of the many daytime activities, from jewellery making and pottery to talks, lectures and dog-friendly events.

The two heated outdoor pools at the park have a roomy terrace and sun loungers to watch the kids from: this should, of course, mean 'poolside cocktail'… All ages can then sort out an evening at the refurbished Park View Complex for a wide variety of acts where the likes of live music and quizzes are laid on alongside murder mystery shows, pub games and talent shows. (You might also like the sound of Movies under the Stars.)

Eats and drinks are covered in the Boathouse bar and restaurant, and other facilities include amusements, a launderette, dishwashing area and showers/loos with disabled access and baby changing. Gas is available to buy from the touring reception.

Please note

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 25/05 and 01/09 (subject to weather conditions).

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Single-sex parties of three or more people under 25 are not permitted on site.

Swimming pool access is included: please show your Entertainment pass.

Entertainment passes are included in the rate.

Was close to the sea front so good location

Toilets were clean and showers were good

    Park was good for kids

    Disliked:

Because we booked through pitch up website - we couldn’t log into the parks system prior to our stay to pre-book any activities. Queried this with Park Dean customer services direct and they were pretty unhelpful - something to do with different reference numbers …???
gave me the park direct dial but couldn’t get through - in fact they hung on on me 7 times. Then when tried to book swimming at check in they were fully booked!
Had to order food / drinks using their app so signal so poor we couldn’t even download the app or get on the Wi-fi even in the club house
Visited toilets several times and no loo roll

Just didn’t feel as though set up for touring/campers - more aimed at the statics

Everything! Email rec'd b4 arrival advised pitch no and to go straight to pitch, pick up arrival info on pitch. Pitch already taken, turns out common practice! Reception advised forget pitch no take any, not leaving details on pitch anymore! No dog walk! Most importantly no social distancing, no masks warn, apart from us in toilet/shower block! Can't comment on other facilities as not used as we left site after 1 night, although we had booked and paid for 3.

The park as a whole was really good with good facilities and close walking distance to most attractions.

    Disliked:

I had promised the kids they could go swimming, couldn't get into the pool onsite as they said it was fully booked. I had arranged to take them to the local Oasis splash pool first thing in the morning instead. I asked reception if I could extend the check out time slightly even if that came at a cost. They said they couldn't, I even said what if I completely pack everything up and leave the caravan in a different place, they still refused. This really upset the kids as I had to let them down again 😩

I think sometimes just going that little further with service makes a big difference and I believe they could have done better.

Local attractions

It might take just a little while to make it off site, but when you do it's just a little while to the nearest beach at Hunstanton, less than half a mile away.

Head here for a first-rate beach edged by its famous red and white cliffs, the seal sanctuary and aquarium, Esplanade Gardens and the quieter vibe of Hunstanton's old town, an easy walk from the new one. Both the Norfolk Coast Path and the Peddars Way long-distance paths cut through here on their route to Cromer.

Queenly sorts can have a day at Liz's pad Sandringham near Manor Village, where there's also free access to the Sandringham country park throughout the year. If historic houses highlight a holiday for you, have a look too at Narborough Hall and its gardens near King's Lynn; the small seventeenth century thatched house of Poacher Cottage at Hempnall, and mighty Norfolk dwellings like Houghton and Holkham hall.

Searching for souvenirs? Regular ware-buying events are held throughout the summer at the Hunstanton & District craft fair and the craft market at nearby Fakenham is held once a month from March to December.
