  • Peaceful site on the edge of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape
  • Bridgnorth 10 minutes' drive away; 25 minutes to Ironbridge
  • Shared firepit and outdoor kitchen on site; seasonal veg for sale
Settle here in the Shropshire Hills National Landscape and you’ll be in for a proper rural escape – Corvedale Camping is a peaceful four-acre site with a wildlife pond, bird nesting boxes and natural space set aside as hunting territory for barn owls. In fact, the owners say, pretty much the only noise you’ll hear by night is likely to be the calls of the owls. And it’s not just wildlife that feels at ease at this site – human guests are likely to find it a lovely place to relax too, with big skies bringing some excellent sunrises, sunsets and stargazing opportunities. Bring your dog, bring your kids, or just come along for a solo break – you may well strike up a chat over at the shared firepit and outdoor kitchen area. There’s usually organic seasonal veg for sale on site, and there’s a farm shop about a 20-minute walk away (or a couple of minutes’ drive) for more local produce and fireside snacks. As secluded as this site feels, it’s not far from a couple of Shropshire’s popular market towns – Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock are about 10 minutes’ drive away, and Ludlow about 20 minutes. Between them they’ve got plenty to offer in terms of shops, places to eat and other amenities. As well as the cooking area, the site’s other facilities include a washing-up area, showers and a choice of plumbed or compost toilets. This site operates as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite – if you’re not a member already your booking will include the membership fee, which gives you a year’s worth of access to club sites (all of which have an eco-friendly approach).

What customers say

Beautiful spot, chill vibes, friendly crew. Handy outdoor kitchen and nature are big pluses. Some found bathrooms a bit grubby, with spiders, and a wonky door and fridge. Still developing, but lots of promise.

Unpowered grass and earth tent site (large)

Liked The setting - very peaceful and stunning view.

Location - 15/20 mins to Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth.

Small number of pitches, wasn’t noisy or crowded.

We were one of the back pitches (swan) and faced towards neighbouring fields so great views without looking on other tents.

Option to purchase fresh veg from round the corner.

Disliked The grass on our pitch needed a cut and was full of thistles. Not good for little ones with bare feet or sandals.

On the whole site the grass needed cutting. I understand they’re keeping it long for wildlife but clearer paths to pitches are needed as well as strimming near the water tap and communal kitchen/dish washing area.

The lock on the shower/toilet room needs fixing. The toilet cubicle locked but people could walk in on you in the shower!

No hot water for washing up.

From the manager: Thanks Sophie for your review, I'm glad you liked the setting and would come back again.
I'm sorry the grass had not been more recently mowed - my mower is ancient and as such I have to use it sparingly!

I am working on getting the door fixed, and building an outdoor shower to help with this too. And for hot water for washing up, there's a kettle in the kitchen next to the washing up point that's free to use :)

Take care, and hope to see you again soon

Unpowered grass and earth tent site (large)

Liked Lovely quiet site in beautiful countryside

Disliked I’m happy with basic sites but access to drinking water could have been a little easier and toilet could have just been a bit cleaner and tidier. Door to shower not working so a bit too easy to walk in on your fellow campers. However a lovely feel to the site and staff really friendly and helpful.

From the manager: Thanks Susanna, it was lovely to meet you and thanks for your comments.
I'm not sure how the drinking water access could be improved as it's a tap on a wall... But I take your point on the door, I am trying to get that fixed. And the toilet is cleaned regularly but during busy periods it can get a little hectic! I'm not sure if you used the left hand compost loo before I got to it on Sunday, if you did my apologies as that was not fun to deal with!
Take care

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Lovely surroundings easy access from main road

Disliked I think something went wrong with pitches on first night we seemed to be just tagged on the end the caravan next to us had taken half our pitch we didn’t mind as due to the storm didn’t need awning.second night was great after van next to us left allowing room for awning.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you Jamie for your kind review, I'm glad you had a good stay and apologies about the mix up with the pitches on the first night, I wasn't expecting that caravan to have such a big awning!
I hope you can come back again soon.

Lyra A. 1 review

Unpowered grass and earth tent site (small)

Liked The Campsite was in a really lovely area and we head great views throughout our stay!! The Campsite had its own outdoor kitchen with plates, utensils, sink, kettle and its own cooking equipment it was really handy especially when we forgot some stuff 😅. The lady who gave us a quick tour was also really lovely and polite. We had no major problems at all.

Disliked The toilet/shower area was a little dirty, which was liveable but they were absolutely ridden with spiders everywhere. Not too bad in the day but they all come out at night 😅🥴

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much Lyra, it was great to meet you and I hope you do come back again!
I can't do much about the spiders unfortunately but I take your point about the bathroom, will try and be more on top of it next season!

Take care

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked The area is beautiful and the location is great, nearby there are lots to do and pretty towns to visit.

Disliked Unkempt site.

The one cubicle holding both the shower and the only flushing toilet is filthy. This facility is also used by workmen from the nearby business.

The lake is so overgrown that you can't even see the water.

There's no hot water for washing up.

One of the boundaries is a factory and there's also a garage next to it. There's noise on core hours.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Abilio, thanks for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the location and the beautiful surroundings.

I'm sorry you felt the cleanliness and customer service were lacking, I know that my sister Maya worked really hard while I was away.

The lake is overgrown deliberately, it is a space for wildlife.

If you wanted hot water for washing up you could have boiled a kettle on the provided stove, in the outdoor kitchen.

And the boundary isn't a factory - it's a small industrial estate with mechanics working. I'm sorry this disturbed you, but people have to make a living, even in the countryside.

Safe travels
