What customers say

A welcoming, peaceful spot for dogs, with basic facilities. Some find pitches bumpy and maintenance lacking, others love the quiet, wildlife and value. Work in progress, but a lovely greeting from the owner's mum is a bonus.

Abilio P.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked The area is beautiful and the location is great, nearby there are lots to do and pretty towns to visit.

Disliked Unkempt site.

The one cubicle holding both the shower and the only flushing toilet is filthy. This facility is also used by workmen from the nearby business.

The lake is so overgrown that you can't even see the water.

There's no hot water for washing up.

One of the boundaries is a factory and there's also a garage next to it. There's noise on core hours.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Abilio, thanks for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the location and the beautiful surroundings.

I'm sorry you felt the cleanliness and customer service were lacking, I know that my sister Maya worked really hard while I was away.

The lake is overgrown deliberately, it is a space for wildlife.

If you wanted hot water for washing up you could have boiled a kettle on the provided stove, in the outdoor kitchen.

And the boundary isn't a factory - it's a small industrial estate with mechanics working. I'm sorry this disturbed you, but people have to make a living, even in the countryside.

Unpowered grass and earth tent site (large)

Liked The location was really beautiful, and lots to see and do in the local area. My daughter's enjoyed visiting the pond (once we'd found it) and the neighboring cows every day.

Disliked The bathroom door didn't close and the whole bathroom needs a thorough clean with there being lots of cobwebs and dead spiders and moths, plus the live ones.
We could hear traffic from the main road, however it wasn't very intrusive, and there was some noise from the neighbouring barn which looked to be a mechanics.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Lovely, quiet location. Nice new composting toilets.

Disliked Door to the shower did not close. Shower and toilet very grubby. Owners looking to make it environmentally friendly but don’t seem to have followed through yet.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Diana thanks for your review.

Sorry about the door I am going to get that looked at, and I'm sorry you didn't feel the toilet and shower were up to scratch - there are clear signs saying you can text us to have this addressed if you aren't happy.

Would love to hear your feedback on how we could be more environmentally friendly :)

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Lovely welcome very accommodating for my nervous dog liked that there was a onsote toilet and shower there was also a rustic outside kitchen along with a hottub also a belltent with compost toilet the site is situated on a road but it doesn't interrupt the stay u could come and go as u pleased and hollie was lovely enough to be on stand by incase we did happen to need her. Pitches were quite bumpy but to be honest there isn't alot that can be done about this id definitely visit again but if there was no tuning people there would ask if I could pitch on the flatter bit alttle further down aslong as my wire reached that is 🙂 lovely peaceful site id definitely visit again aslong as they would have us that is haha

Disliked Take a torch if u do visit but that is stated on there info

Unpowered grass and earth tent site (medium)

Liked Not much unfortunately, it was peaceful and nice listening to the birds, and the toilet block and shower served its purpose.

Disliked Little bit disappointed, wasn’t anyone around when we arrived, ended up walking around the nearest buildings looking for someone so we knew which pitch to use. wasn’t expecting a meadow, Field was very overgrown, it did offer some privacy however the actual pitch was too over grown, and too close to the boarder of the meadow, this attracted way to many insects and bugs. We ended up leaving after 1st night instead of 3rd because the dog has been bitten loads and just wasn’t worth us staying.

There is a communal fridge luckily we didn’t need it because mouldy food had been left in there and clearly not been maintained.

Overpriced for what’s on offer unfortunately.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi, thanks for your review. I'm sorry you were disappointed, and I forgot to remove the salad from the fridge. I've had a lot going on at home so haven't been on top of things and my mower is being fixed at the end of July.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked My wife and I liked the peaceful tranquility and the wild life, there is no traffic noise only the local people coming and going which was not very often. Would recommend for a peaceful getaway. And we would certainly like to come back again when the site is finished and running properly.

Disliked I don’t wish to be horrible with my remarks about this site or the owners and their staff, because the site will be very much sort after when it’s properly up and running. At the moment in my wife’s and my opinion it is not really ready to accept . As there is a few issues that the owners have to deal with, but I am sure they have every intention to do so. Then it will be the perfect getaway.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your review and we're glad you enjoyed the location. As you know we are just starting out and working flat out to improve the site all the time. I'm not sure exactly what your issues were, as you haven't stated, so it's hard to respond constructively to your feedback, but I hope you do come back again and maybe you can share your thoughts then.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked I didn't spend a great deal of time there in the day as I was attending a family event nearby but I liked:
The peace away from main roads, the beautiful area and wildlife, although weather was bad I knew it was there and
the lovely lady, who was the owners Mum who came to greet me, told me about it. Wanted to walk on the footpaths in arrival but couldn't find any and the country roads are very speedy not relaxing to walk on. There is a pub nearby walking distance which some other people said was nice.
The cost was good.
Toilet and shower were good clean and free 5 min shower. Had some recycling bins for different things - great to see.

Disliked Not much info about site, was there water refill tap somewhere forgot to ask then wasn't sure how to find out? Thin paper to dry hands in bathroom doesn't work and not very green. The site felt undefined, it wasn't totally off grid, had electric hook ups on the back of a big farm building which overlook the grass field, obvs can have both but it felt an odd combination at the moment but it is new and they are building a compost toilet(S) and other things so sure it will form it's character soon.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much Fee for your kind and honest review. We're so glad you had a nice stay here despite the weather. Sorry about the tap, it is there quite close to the toilet but the sign is quite faded, I'll get a new one asap. As you've said we are in early stages and finding our feet but this is really useful feedback so thank you very much. Hope you can come back soon for a longer stay :)
Best wishes
