What customers say

Amazing views, great facilities (private showers too!), and a warm welcome. Spacious, level pitches with fire pits & picnic tables. Owners are a real asset, plus cooked breakfasts and a top spot for walks and Ludlow Castle. A bit tricky on the access road, and kitchen is basic.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Clean facilities, remote, quiet location, spacious pitches. Loved the addition of a fire pit and picnic bench. Great for stargazing and generally be left to it. No on site wifi but plenty of signal that you could stream.

Disliked Access is bumpy (but expected given the remote location). A definite slope to the field. Could have benefited from a bit more info on arrival such as how/when to order the breakfast and details on the local area.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Gorgeous view of the sun rising over the hills in the morning! I stayed with my beagle for a night, and there was plenty of space between pitches even with her on long leash, spacious and clean facilities and had a decent movable bowls for campfires. A 30 min drive through beautiful scenery to Stiperstones Ridge and Long Mynd. 😘🐶🍃

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Everything. A really well run and relaxing campsite. Facilities are excellent, pitches are large and location is second to none. Offa’s Dyke loop into BC is a great walk, looking forward to finding some more soon. Mary is a very welcoming host and we loved the takeaway breakfast. Just re-booked for the end of the month. We can’t wait to come back.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked What was not to like. The location was stunning. The views across the countryside were breathtaking.

The facilities were immaculate. Everything we needed had been thought of. The shower/toilet block was spotlessly clean and it was lovely to have a hot shower after a days hiking.

The campers kitchen made washing up easy and having access to a fridge and freezer was a massive bonus when camping.

The surrounding woodland walks were a hidden bonus.

Mary was a lovely and helpful host and we will definitely be visiting this location again.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Local attractions

This is such an excellent area for all sorts of outdoor activities, and the views and scenery are pretty spectacular too… Woodbatch Camping and Glamping is surrounded by an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways to wander and canter, and is close to Kerry Ridgeway, Offa's Dyke, the Jack Mytton Way, the B.C. Ring and the Long Mynd. The Shropshire Way and the Blue Remembered Hills bridleways pass through the farmyard. Bishop's Castle, dating back to the eighth century and King Offa, is five minutes' drive or about 50 minutes' walk away: there's quite a bit to find out about local history in this locale and along Offa's Dyke, and these days the town has a busy market, large cattle and sheep market, and little shops along the high street selling local produce. Church Stretton, Ludlow and Shrewsbury are all within easy reach, as are quite a few castles and quite a lot more splendid scenery. You could also take a look at Acton Scott Victorian Farm, Blists Hill Victorian Town, the hill of Stiperstones and the aircraft and exhibitions of the RAF base at Cosford.
