What customers say
Top family spot! Clean, friendly, peaceful rural views, lovely stream. Excellent modern facilities, great farm shop. Spacious pitches, fire pits, farm tours a hit. Staff super helpful. Downsides: bumpy road, occasional train noise, some sloped pitches. Managers aware of road issues.

Great site, great facilities, highly recommended.
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Wonderful site with lots of space, great facilities and an amazing atmosphere. Nice farmland location with a river gently running along the bottom of the site (probably slightly quieter higher up the site, as people seem to flock towards the river bank a bit). Lots of people hire firepits in the evenings, and this creates a great atmosphere - it's like its own little community for a brief stretch of time.
Farm tour for kids on Sunday morning was also a great thing.
Disliked Nothing - there is a trainline fairly nearby but it's not intrusive at all. Quite nice to watch the odd freight train rolling by in the early evening, and did not disrupt us at any point.

A great little gem in the Rutland area.
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked The site for space & amenities were fantastic. The stream made a massive difference as the weather was so hot it was lovely floating in that to cool down.
Disliked The fact that you do not do walk in bookings. We were in reception with your staff looking on your site to ensure there was availability, only to then say sorry but I had to book online. That nearly led us to leave as we normally would!

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Loved being near farm animals was unique and was beautiful to see. Really clean facilities and friendly site staff. Great location, reasonable pitch size.
Disliked Felt like a lot of the other people around us were very inconsiderate and loud past 10:30. Neighbouring tents especially the bigger groups weren’t considerate of walking round my tent rather they walked through it, getting close to my guide ropes and not controlling their children. Luckily it was only the last 2 days of our stay.

Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked What a fantastic campsite!
The facilities are the best I’ve experienced on a campsite and were cleaned regularly throughout the day. Plenty of washing up stations too with one outside and two inside. Freezer for cool blocks, water etc. The shop is fab with lots of local produce and the teepee for the children is a lovely touch.
The site itself is charming being off the beaten track, plenty of sheep grazing, cargo trains passing by and a brook which you are allowed (and encouraged!) to paddle in. If you are a light sleeper you might want ear plugs as the sheep do like to baa early in the morning and the trains run throughout the night (though they do go a lot slower!) Other campers seemed to genuinely respect the 22:30 quiet time rule.
The owner does a wonderful tour of the farm and feeding opportunity on Sunday mornings.
Finally, the area is great. We went to Rutland water and Fineshade Wood. The local activity centre, Forest Facility, books up quickly so it’s recommended to book in advance. The Rutland Vinyard is within walking distance too.

Liked Lovely site -bit of a hidden gem in this area. Lovely setting away from main road and by the river. Very peaceful and nice laid back atmosphere. Friendly welcome from staff and handy shop on site. Really good facilities -lots of thought been given to what is useful. Games tent was a nice touch.
Disliked Bit of a slope on our pitch -we need to get some levellers!

Very relaxing stay. Excellent facilities and amenities. Will return.
Bell tent
Liked Fantastic, beautiful location. Space, peace. Facilities were spotless. Shop was excellent value, all staff very friendly and helpful. Lots for adventurous kids to do and games room was good. Pitches were well spaced, the Belle tents were amazing. Very comfortable, well kitted out, especially the kitchen. Really relaxing time, and, the odd train aside, very quiet. Great base to explore the area around.
Disliked The driveway, and the lane "surface" when you turned out of the site, though that is council owned and not the sites fault.
